This is the second book that I have picked up related to crypto and blockchain recently, after the great Defi primer, and another great one I would say. It’s less technical than the first book, and easier to read, yet it gives a very comprehensive view of Web3, both the good and the bad parts, and the authors managed to explain the concepts in a way that is approachable and comprehensible to the mass, making it a great introduction book for those who have little background but would like to understand Web3 in general. So, if you are one of those, go ahead and pick it up, or you can check out my summary below and see if it’s worth your time, and money.

I picked this up expecting a technical explanation of what exactly WEB3 is all about and instead got something better, an analysis on where we came from in terms of the early web, where we are now and where we are heading and ultimately a reality check. If the web was a ship I would describe it as a sinking ship. Thanks to this book I realise that more thought needs to be put in place before we take the next technological step. Just because something is new doesn't make it better. We should have learned that by now but it seems that's not the case.

Overall a nice read. You will find a nice review of opportunities and challenges in Web3 future. I really like the Molly White interview which also shows up in other HBR compilations of crypto/ blockchain material.

Not a technical read as to be expected from a HBR book but good enough to understand the basics of web3. It was nice to have the articles blend fact and interviews together. It’s like a crash course on different perspectives and if one is interested to dive deeper with the cited sources.

interesting book, although i'm not sure i believe in the concept long-term...but it does build up on the expected hype of everything which people say can get "unlocked" with this "amazing" thing/tech, crypto/blockchain...to use the keywords...
the book is informative.
