The Old Testament is richly laden with prophecies and foreshadowings of the last days. Having never researched its treasures, however, many Christians possess a lopsided, exclusively New Testament understanding of End-Times prophecy. The Day of the Lord Commentary meticulously examines every Old Testament text foretelling or foreshadowing the dramatic people and events that consummate God’s prophetic plan, terminate this world order, and inaugurate Christ’s unprecedentedly righteous, peaceful, worldwide kingdom on earth.Only the Bible, accurately interpreted, establishes accurate End-Times views. This commentary’s abundant, biblical cross-references lay a deep, broad foundation for a clear, accurate eschatology. It will amaze you how often, and how specifically, Old and New Testament prophets agree. All see the same final events, and in the same Tribulation, Armageddon, Millennium! This in-depth study gives special attention to the Old Testament’s less-known “little apocalypses” in Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and Zechariah, and identifies their many links to John’s well-known apocalypse, Revelation. Soundly refuting Supersessionism, it explains why God has regathered the Jews, reestablished the State of Israel, and preserved it against all Israel’s Day of the Lord is coming!
A lifelong resident of North Carolina, Greg Hinnant was called aside thirty-five years ago from his chosen field of music education, and later from the business world, to an extended period of preparation for Christian ministry. His present teaching and writing ministries are founded on years of devotional and systematic study of the Bible and Christian history, and have been strongly influenced by the teachings of some of the masters of the spiritual life, such as Oswald Chambers and A. W. Tozer.
As a writer, Greg has published nine books: Not by Bread Alone: Daily Devotions for Disciples, Spiritual Truths for Overcoming Adversity, Gold Tried in the Fire: Tested Truths for Trying Times, Word Portraits: Five Illustrations of the Mature Christian, DanielNotes: An Inspirational Commentary on the Book of Daniel, Precious Pearls from the Proverbs, Walking in His Ways, Walking on Water, and Key New Testament Passages on Divorce and Remarriage. His articles are published regularly in Christian periodicals.
As a speaker, Greg has ministered in churches, schools, and conferences across America and abroad.
As a teacher, Greg is on the faculty of Christian Life Educators Network, currently teaching five courses: Understanding and Overcoming Adversity; Biblical Discipleship; The Book of Daniel; A Biblical Study on Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage; and Pearls of Wisdom from The Proverbs.
Greg's passion is simply “to fully know God and fully do His will in life, and help others do the same.” While sharing every Christian's desire to see the lost saved, Greg's overriding burden is that the saved be raised to spiritual maturity, that is, trained to walk consistently in the ways of God and go on to full spiritual development.
