This is the original book which has been used for many years by those who want clear and easy to understand rituals for accomplishing aims by magical means. Explicit information on how to use roots, oils, powders, incense and herbs and candles. From the notebooks of Marie Laveau.
“Black and White Magic,” ostensibly written by “Marie Laveau,” but attributed to, and published by, Anna Riva. This small book is written in a format where one approaches Laveau for help and Laveau responds directly—all while including the names of Anna Riva products.
If readers want to apply these spells, they can easily use substitutions or make their own homemade products. Unfortunately, the author just doesn’t focus on the reputed spells supposedly written and/or performed by Laveau (these are simply hoodoo, root work, and Louisiana-style Vodou practiced for centuries in the south).
At the end of the book, the author incorporates things like Western astrology, cartomamcy, and, for some reason I can’t yet understand, provides a list of traditional gifts given to couples during “Wedding Anniversaries.” It seemed that the author didn’t have the time or the inclination to really hone in on Southern magic.
