THE HEALING ENERGY OF YOUR HANDS demystifies the art of healing. Beginning with a basic explanation of the nature of healing energy, illness, and the role of the mind in the healing process, Bradford offers techniques so simple that anyone, even a child, can work with healing energy. The author'¬?s intention is that anyone using his book can awaken his or her natural healing talents quickly and easily.

I was surprised by how good this 1993 tutorial is. It trickled to three stars over a few observations I will make, now that I am finishing my 2022 reviews. I don’t remember how it missed four stars in March. These are lifesaving details to reread and try out. I thereby give four stars to these valuable contents.
“The Healing Energy Of Your Hands” shows anyone that we are born with electromagnetic energy with which we can help people and animals, just by the touch or nearby “biofield” gliding of our hands. We can use an extended biofield if a recipient is not present: visualizing healing and sending it with our minds and hearts. That is old hat but it is educational to read a variety of authors on how straightfowardly we can do it, without classes. People believed only reverends could “lay on hands”. God wants us to know and **use** the gifts of our natural makeup. The cheerful Michael Bradford continues to heal clients and advise workplaces.
The thing is: when you read, watch, or hear Donna Eden, whose beautifully explained logic came out in 1998.... you notice flaws elsewhere. She knows the biological backgrounds, treated millions, and she sees energy. Since she revealed that chakra colours change and that any hand can do balancing, for example; teachers echoing the formulaic assumption that hands or hues are fixed, seem uninformed. Michael also spent too long discussing practitioner manners, even though it is good advice.
Something all authors should know is that many people pour over these books for ways to save animals and other family at home, who couldn’t be helped by doctors. Please always include emergency and fatal illness tips and itemize them clearly. However, everyone would gain essential knowledge from this simple guide as it is.
This was the first book I read on energy healing, many moons ago! I was drawn to it over a decade ago, long before I began studying Reiki (or even knew what Reiki was). Read it if you wish to gain a better understanding about sensing and moving energy, as well as the mind and how belief patterns affect our ability to heal. It is also a good primer for thinking about energy in general.
A few years ago, I volunteered for a few days at a primitive skills gathering in Maine. A strange mix of forest punks, preppers, and neo-hippies threw up some tents in a field and led a few dozen workshops on skills like plant identification, tracking, making flint, cordage. It looked like the last few days of the conference might get rained out, due to an impending storm that was approaching from the southeast and headed right for our field. One of the organizers, who offered reiki workshops from an "intuitive healing" tent, encouraged all of us to come stand together in a large circle, hold hands, and manifest an energy bubble that would surround the camp and protect us from the storm. We did this for about three minutes. And the next day, when the storm was supposed to arrive at our camp, it dispersed into two forks, and passed around us.
More recently, I scheduled an appointment with a friend who practices somatic therapy for the purpose of learning what exactly somatic therapy was all about. My friend explained to me that, over time, and especially during childhood, learned physio-psychological responses to traumatic life experiences can become ingrained in our posture. The purpose of somatic therapies is to help patients release the experiences stored in our bodies and to reorient their postures to help them better handle life stresses. She then asked me to lay on a table and began gently touching, stroking and palpating my throat, sternum, shoulders, and neck. After a few minutes, I began to laugh uncontrollably. My fingertips began tingling, and I felt waves of nervous energy coursing up and down my upper body in horizontal bands. Afterwards, I was dizzy, dehydrated, and a bit euphoric. She told me that my experience was fairly common, and that it was likely due to the release of some psycho-physical tension which I had stored in my chest, shoulders, and throat. The experience left intrigued and curious about various somatic therapies, and the more I learned about them, the more I find myself immersed in woo. This book auspiciously happened to appear in my life at the right place and time, and I am grateful for it.
Anyway, now that I've read this book, I can: -create healing energy balls and energy rings, -draw out negative energies from someone's body, -cleanse someone's aura, and -transmit positive energy laser beams directly into someone's chakras,
all with the help of the Christian God and the Virgin Mary. We can even do it long-distance, with the power of our minds, so hit me up if you're in need of some spiritual healing!
(I am, right now, radiating positive energy from my eyeballs through the internet to your eyeballs. Do you feel it?)
*2 stars because this is my first New Age book and these concepts are new and amusing to me. Plus the diagrams depicting energy flows are pretty funny.
I have recently been reading books about healing and our own ability to heal ourselves of deep emotional wounds we may have not realized we had. These deep emotional wounds, usually stemming from various childhood traumas, wind up hurting us in relationships and our daily interactions when these past hurts go unrecognized and untreated. This book offers very fascinating methods in figuring out how to clear emotional scablike “blockages” layer by layer so that we can determine what is the root cause of much of our neurotic behaviors.
This is a good book with some good techniques. they are different from what you may find in other books but it is always good to have a few extra tools on your bag. But the tones of love and God and prayer to be used as conduits for healing may turn people away. These are legitimate forces but he seems to miss out on energy's connection to the mind. Keeping it grounded and available to all. People do have to realize healing is a spiritual practice for the healer. And love and God are powerful forces to connect with. Keep this in mind when trying out these techniques. They are simple, powerful, effortless and only take a few minutes. Certainly worth a try.
