The members of the Deathwatch, an elite cadre of alien hunters drawn from the ranks of the Space Marines, under the command of Ultramarine veteran Jerron, are sent to the Imperial planet of Pavia to help quell an alien revolution, only to find themselves fighting a battle against an enemy that can masquerade as human. Original.
I like the organization Deathwatch, and the roleplaying game based on it, but this one was a bit of a mess story-wise. The artwork made it difficult to follow what was going on.
All the ingredients of an entertaining Warhammer 40,000 tale are here, in large part thanks to the presence of a genestealer cult, but for me it just doesn't come together very well. The characters, plot, and especially the artwork all feel like a missed opportunity to craft something genuinely engaging. I've read worse but I've also read a LOT better.
