I think every female should read this book, daring or not, simply to get inspiration to do all those things you'd like to do, but keep finding reasons not to do.
One dare I need to do is "Dare yourself to have outrageous amounts of fun once in a while! Maybe you've been working crazy hours & need an energizing break. Or you feel like you've been stuck in an endless routine. If you feel like you need to infuse your life with fun, do it. Just make sure to really go for it and plan an activity that's outrageously fun & really exciting. Go to a restaurant you've been fantasizing about but can't normally afford, plan a weekend getaway to a cozy b&b, or.... If you get butterflies in your stomach and a big grin on your ace thinking about it, you know you're on the right track to planning your outrageously fun activity." I'm too dang practical for this to be an easy one.
This title might be better described as a beginner's guide to daring.
I do know that there are far too many people who live filled with insecurity and fear who want something more but don't believe that they can do it. Unfortuantely, this title fails to address how to hurdle from "I can't" to "Well, maybe I can" and instead offers a lukewarm list of "dares" that will seem incomprehensible and unsurmountable to anyone with the "I think I can" attitude.
I enjoyed this short read. This is my mother's book and so I didn't write in the activities notes. This is a feel good book that got me thinking about my life and how best to make changes to improve myself for myself. I took notes and I'll return to the parts that inspire me.
Just one small issue, I do not like the word "female" I wondered if the title could have been better as daring women. Just my own words quirks.
I was lent this book to read and (sorry, Mom) I wasn't all that impressed. The advice was decent so I can't knock it for that, but even though it's part of the title, the frequency of the term "Daring Female" throughout the book seemed excessive and a bit cheesy. Also, the examples of women who did something unexpected (daring, if you will) and ended up more successful than anyone could have imagined got kind of annoying. And the (check out their websites here).. please no.
There is no groundbreaking information in this book. But most of us aren't looking for that in a self-help book. Natasha gives readers some great ideas such as "Bite off more than you can swallow but learn how to spit." I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to anyone who feels like they are living in a rut or a little bored with life.
Loved the idea of this book. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the delivery of the idea. Rather than feeling fun and inspiring it felt preachy and a little too "this is what I did" to be a good break out of your shell book. Pretty glittery book cover.
This book is very inspirational. It gives you that little push you need to get going with your life! It's just like having a best friend urging you on.
