Rate this book
Are there extraterrestrials among us? Discover a host of stunning secrets—and an ingenious brain challenge that will light up your world!

The year is 1969, and Professor Alan Grey is ready to lead you on a magical mystery tour of a world where space creatures mingle with earthlings, unbeknownst to all but a chosen few. On the one hand, this dazzling book is a field guide to other worlds, from the solar system to the laws of time and space; from the many species and cultures in faraway galaxies to the primitive state of alienology studies here on Earth. To the sharpest readers, however, this shining resource, with its constellation of brain-teasers, serves as a cunning test: Readers who solve its puzzles are guaranteed to achieve enlightenment—and have a chance to represent humankind in the intergalactic community at large. Here are just some of the topics covered:
*A map of the universe, showing the location of many alien worlds an alien species guide
*Alien biology, methods of communication, and civilizations
*Alien technology and spaceship design
*How to identify aliens who have already infiltrated human society and more!

So you want to contact aliens? Turn to the back cover to find out how...

Saya lsg ingat pada film Man in Black.

I didn't like this one as much, but I think that is purely because the subject matter isn't as appealing for me. However, I still feel like this was a well executed Ology book and would be perfect for someone more into aliens and sci-fi.

Have you ever seen kids fight over a book? I mean, fight to actually read it? Like yelling and grabbing and running away to hide with the book kind of fighting? There might have even been some pinching in there too. I have to say I secretly felt a bit giddy over this fighting. Fighting over a book? Really? That's awesome!

Alienology is just fun. There are fun pictures, flaps to lift, stories to read and secrets to be found. You can learn the universal gestures for aliens and be ready to communicate. Well, at least to say hello, thank you and goodbye. You will learn about alien brains and the evolution of eyeballs. There are things to touch, but be careful of the S.L.I.M.E! (Surface-Living Intelligent Multiplying Endolith) It will consume you in order to grow! There are charts to compare different species of aliens, and it tells you which are friendly and which are not. Which is very important. Do you want to know how big aliens are? How long they live? Where they live? What sort of weapons they use? It's all in this book.

The nice people at Candlewick Press sent this book over to review. We loved this book at our house. After the fighting, that is. Each of my kids looked through it and then at the dinner table we all looked through it together. We laughed and talked and had a great time. Those are the moments that make life great, I think. A book that can do that should be labeled "fantabulous"!

(the Society for the Promotion of Alien Contact with Earth) yang dikomandoi langsung oleh Professor Allen Gray sang Director dari S.P.A.C.E. itu sendiri. Greatttt. Love u 😘😘😘

I am a huge fan of the Ology series and decided to reread them all because of their newest release, Ghostology. That said, Alienology was really hard to get through because it read like a textbook. I understand it was designed like a textbook, but it was kinda boring to me. It took me awhile to get through it. There wasn't really a storyline or any action. I guess I got spoiled with some of the others from the series.

This book was really good. I liked all of the weird-looking aliens, and the world this book paints, where there are aliens living on every planet within 50 light years and there are conspiracies around every corner. This book was also pretty scary and all too believable. The S.L.I.M.E alone could give you nightmares. I touched the sample given as a little kid joke and I didn’t touch anyone else the day after. Yes, this fiction book is way too believable, especially for an alien-fearing kid.

Not one I had read before or even knew existed until very recently. I found this one less engaging, similar to the others based more in reality (in this case space facts).

Another interactive book, this one one of the official "ology" books. This one has a different feel from the others. Here, a scientist, Alan Gray, is investigating aliens on Earth. The reader is invited to become a member of S.P.A.C.E. (the Society for the Promotion of Alien Contact with Earth), in preparation for a sinister alien invasion by a highly destructive species. There also are mind games scattered throughout- tough, too! I am not well versed in alien movies and novels, so I have a feeling a lot of the references and "inside jokes" sailed over my head. Still, it's a nice read, with the descriptions of various aliens and their personalities, as well as information about the galaxy and the solar system.

Maybe I am getting tired of these books, but I was more than a little disappointed with this book. I found it to be poorly strung together, with very little cohesive narrative. Other books in the series wove their made up facts and artifacts into a bigger (albeit fictional) story. Usually the original "author" of a manuscript. While the authors have tried to do this by making this the work of a fictional Professor Alan Grey, it didn't really work.

I didn't expect this addition to the ologies series to be so good, but it was! The aliens included were so imaginative and interesting and they were consistently described. All of the facts about earth, the solar system, stars, planets, and the galaxy were factual but fun to learn. It was a nice touch to add real accounts of UFO sightings too. The surprise in the back was also really cool - what a nicely put together book on aliens!

Another entry in the Ologies series, Alienology‘s reference text format mixes fact with fiction (and a few puzzles) to entice kids into the world of science fiction. The Eight-Year-Old loves these books, but I have sort of the same problem with them that I had with the Dora the Explorer cartoons. Fact and fiction are given equal weight, and that can make it hard to tell where the lines of truth actually are. Parents, you may want to read these books along with your kids.

This entry into the Ology series is incredibly creative. There is so much background presented in the book it's unreal. The frame story pulls the reader into the book in a way that I think kids will really have fun with. A fun read for any extraterrestrial enthusiast.
