When Josefina “Joey” Roma moves to Shenandoah Springs with her sisters, she’s looking for a fresh start. Their fiber arts and weaving company, Three Sisters Roma, keeps Joey focused—and drained. When a sexy beekeeper-slash-veterinarian rescues her and her new lambs from a swarm of bees on a country roadside, she had no idea how ‘fresh’ her life would turn. She hadn’t expected a man with a cocky attitude, cool confidence, and a pair of blue, blue, blue eyes…
Arran Brody, home after his mother’s death to help turn around his family’s honey farm, is still trying to reconcile his feelings around his recently-wed father. Exhausted,he's ready to give up and return to his vet practice in Vermont. But, when he rescues Joey from her road-side bee dilemma, he may have found the answer to “settle the bees” in his own heart.
A lovely start to the series, two families reeling from loss and trying desperately to find a way forward. Back in Scotland the families may be enemies, but here in Shenandoah Falls they may just need each other to not just survive, but to thrive. Aaron and Joey are both lost, they are doing everything they can to help their families retain their heritage whilst moving forward but they feel at a loss, like a failure, never giving enough, never being enough. They are so alike, with the biggest hearts but stubborn ways and neither will admit that the sparks that fly are sparks of attraction not sparks of anger, but even so you cannot resist liking them. This is beautifully written and you are quickly invested in both families and the wellbeing of both the bees and the lambs as they all work together to travel the very bumpy road to success and happiness. This book is available on Kindle Unlimited, I was sent an advance copy to read, the views expressed here are my own.
This laugh out loud, swoon-worthy novella was a load of fun and great on romance! I lost the count of how often I sighed and giggled. I really liked Joey (Josefina) and Arran. These two had me smiling from the get-go and I couldn't be happier with this novella.
This sweet read was a lot of fun to read. I enjoyed the romance and the sweet seduction as well as the crackling tension that came with it. It was OH SO GOOD and I could definitely use another dose of Mollie Cox Bryan's writing!
The Beekeeper's Bride gets a SWEET AS HONEY FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its beautiful, its fun, its a great little novella.
Joey is trying to help her family, which is why she is stuck in a van with two baby lambs and a windshield full of bee's. She soon meets Arran the person who comes to get the bees and helps her with the lambs. Their paths cross a couple more times. He is trying to find out why the bees keep swarming and she is trying to help her family.
Fun, quick read. And what a great concept -- inviting other writers to write short stories/novellas set in an established fictional world. Ms. Bryan weaves an engaging story set in a world created by Marina Adair. Love the premise and the characters. I guess I'll have to look to other authors in this series to find out what happens to the sisters.
Another well written story from Mollie Cox Bryan! Characters were fun, romantic but not mushy, and very likable! This was an easy to read page turner that I was able to read in one sitting! If you are looking for lighthearted romance that will make you smile, then here it is! I highly recommend!
I don't usually read romance but I'm friends with the author on Facebook and I get her newsletter and when this book was available on Kindle Unlimited, I decided to read it. It's the story of the Roma family, three daughters, their mother and a 6 year old grandchild, Charlotte. They've recently settled in Shenandoah Falls to make wool garments and try to pay off the debt that their fathers untimely death has left them with. How Joey, one of the daughters, meets Arran Brody and they start seeing each other makes for a great story. The story was very good but there were a few mistakes in the manuscript. Even though there were some editing misses, I can recommend this book.
I loved this story because I love people who love animals. It can be interesting when you meet someone who because of history you aren’t suppose to like. Thank goodness folks can move beyond that. I think Joey and Arran are perfect for each other. They both have such giving hearts. I love how the Roma ladies take care of each other, even when they are teasing each other. A true loving family. I received an ARC of this book, but my opinion is my own.
Joey Roma is looking for a fresh start working with her family’s fiber arts company. What she didn’t expect to find was romance with a local beekeeper. I always like Ms. Bryan’s work and found this short, sweet romance a nice break from the murder-y books I usually read. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.
What do you get when you mix bees and baby lambs? A fun quick read that had me rolling my eyes. 2 families that apparently have history get tangled up together when a daughter from one family and a son from the other family meet over 2 baby lambs and a swarm of bees. There us of course the usual deciding that they aren't interested and general dislike for each other .
When two people put their families before themselves and then find each other will they follow their hearts or let their chance of happiness pass them away? Novella number one in the Shenandoah Heart series grabs you from the start and won’t let go. I can’t wait for more!
A sweet romance novel. A short quick read. Good for a weekend or beach read. Will definitely be continuing to read the series. Love the Scottish brothers. Can hear the accent in my mind as I read.
Short and sweet story of a Scottish legend, a beekeeper, and a farmer/artist. They meet when his bees swarm her car because the queen was stuck. A lamb needs attention and shenanigans ensue.
Too bad the editing was not fixed - story line was good but editing was poor. A lot of text was highlighted or underlined. It is distracting when reading..........sigh
The Beekeeper’s Bride by Mollie Cox Bryan is an amusing romance. It is a short story (71 pages). There is a lively meet cute between Joey Roma and Arran Brody. The lambs, Petunia and Uncle Guido, were sweet. Due to the length of the story, there is a lack of character development. I like the Roma family business Three Sisters Roma. I could envision the artistic creations they produce. The pieces they created for the contest sounded amazing. The story does contain mild foul language. I enjoyed the humor sprinkled throughout the tale. The Beekeeper’s Bride is a lighthearted romance with busy bees, adorable lambs, feuding families, fabulous fiber arts, and rapid romance.
Two families that are not supposed to like each other. Well when Joey and Arran meet will that change. A loving family, lambs, bees a fun quick, laugh out loud read.
I received an ARC prior to publication and decided to voluntarily review it.
