A FEW DRINKS, SOME LAUGHS ... WHAT COULD BE MORE INNOCENT?
It's just a fun night out with the girls, with talk of men, sex and ... murder? Why not, when each of them has a lawyer who deserves to get his just deserts. And so the Hot Ladies Murder Club is born --- made up of names written boldly in bloodred lipstick. Each lady has a diabolical plan in store for her lawyer. But the not-quite-what-she-seems Hannah Smith wouldn't mind the lawyer opposing her --- the deliciously sexy Joe Campbell --- winding up quite alive ... and in her bed.
WHAT COULD BE MORE DEADLY?
Then the joke suddenly becomes national news when lawyers and Hot Ladies both come under attack. Hannah --- who has a close acquaintance with fear already --- knows her life could be in jeopardy. There's only one man whose help she dares accept ... bad-tempered, ruthless and utterly drop-dead-gorgeous Joe Campbell, who insists he's in charge of protecting his life. And hers!

#book12of2020 #qotd d how are you guys affected with the social distancing restrictions as part of covid 19 ?! . Well my college is closed and am home with my books, trying to be productive by utilising each second...... S.T.A.Y.I.N and S.T.A.Y.S.A.F.E guyzz... . Grabbed this one from a sale without even thinking much cause I was in love with the cover the moment my eyes spotted it .....and guess what as the title suggested it was a thriller ...... . The story revolves around Hannah , a single mom relocated to Texas with dreams of moving on and starting everything afresh ......but her life was not that easy and her past was not allowing her to adapt to the new environment ......things take a new turn when she meets Joe Campell a leading advocate who's trying to sue her for some 'realtor' issues ...........there comes a situation where she and her friends form a silly club sort of thing called the hot ladies murder club which made a hit list for all the lawyers that each of the girls hated.......but later on the fun fact ( the list) was influencing someone for something dreaded that was about to happen ...... . Will Hannah be able to get out of all it and find a normal life like she wanted or again something weird happens and she have to run from there too ....... . It really was a great book and I loved it .....highly recommend it to people who love to read thrillers along with some romantic bliss.... Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is an ok story of women fed up with attorneys and frivolous law suits. What started as a joke murder list, turns serious when someone is shot and someone dies. In between, there is forbidden love, real love, and quick healing from past traumas. Not the most engaging read, but it held my interest.
This one stretched the bounds of belief in too many areas. While I've (thankfully) never been subjected to the types of abuse depicted here, I find it hard to swallow that a woman who has been subjected to extreme sexual violence would be overcome with lust for a man who reminds her of her abuser.
And a psycho who gets off on non-consensual sexual violence, who admits it's all about power, agrees to let someone else tie him down this time (so he can conveniently be killed)? I don't think so.
Not to mention the whole creation of the murder club felt horribly forced and contrived.
I didn't despise this enough to give it one star, so it gets two - only because there is no half-star option.

There's a scene in this book where "heroine" Hannah is out for drinks with the hot ladies of the title and spends the entire time whinging and wanting to go home. That was it for me! I couldn't warm to her for the rest of the book! The title is misleading, too. The "club" is only mentioned a few times.
I just red an LMN movie.. girl flees abusive husband and falls in love with lawyer. husband finds wife and then deals with crazy stalker.. yawn boring..
