This captivating story teaches you how to live twelve times the life experience of the average person. Most of us measure our time by clocks and calendars. Live A Thousand Years reveals the power of measuring your time and your success by moments and experiences.
I haven't read this book in a longggggg time and to be honest I don't know why!! This book changes the way I look at life and how I can make the most of the dash on my future gravestone. I may not live to be a thousand years old, but my sage age will be up there. :)
This book lays out ways to take stock of the WAY you are living your life and offers observations on how to set restrictive beliefs behind. We follow "Nick" through a series of experiences as he is guided to a clearer viewpoint. I'm a little fuzzy on the details but I DID enjoy the journey. It contains a worksheet one can use to mark progress through the stages.
somewhat predictable but a good book for reading right after new years. it's inspiring in a very corporate america way -- no new ideas but gives you a new way to focus on them. though full of cliches, it's clean and quick.
An easy read that is fun, if somewhat predictable, and offers some nice little gems of wisdom to think about along the way. It would be a really good book to give to adolescents or possibly high school/college graduates to help them with thinking about their goals in life and what really matters.
If I could rate this book higher than 5 stars, I would! I want everyone to read this. I feel so inspired to truly live and ENJOY life!! Such an amazing book, super easy read and the stories are captivating. This book is a must!
There are a handfull of books that truly changed my life, and this is one of them. I have read it multiple times throughout my life and each time, it has taught me something different. Our lives change, our priorities change, and so does our perspective.
In the current stage of my life (my 30s), I am balancing being a mother and climbing the corporate ladder. This book reminded me that the little moments are most precious - whether its taking a walk with my daughter, reading [alone] in my favorite spot, or sitting with a coworker for those 8 minutes allowing them to be 'seen'.
This isnt your typical 'instructional' self help book, which is why I love it so much. I enjoy a good story and this is one I've had on repeat since I was in my 20s.
If you have this book in your possession already, read it. It's fast, and it would be hard not to gain something from it. It's a schmaltzy, gimmicky approach to getting your personal ducks in a row and doing what you want to do. Livera is a professional motivational speaker, and that's how it comes across, in the Who Moved My Cheese genre.
I very nice "feel good" read. I knocked this out in an afternoon, and enjoyed it very much. The story is basically a 12 step program for the busy person. I would love to send this to many friends as a gift.
A very good friend of ours wrote this book and it is absolutely fantastic. (Although, I am a little bit biased, but it really is good.) It really helps the reader realize how precious our time and life is. It's a good book to reflect on.
