Homeless

Rate this book

Life is definitely not meant to be this hard. His mother tragically dies of cancer, his once perfect world is turned upside down, and the cold-hearted streets of Detroit couldn't care less.

Now Lonnie McKay, homeless and alone, is caught up in the system at the mercy of others. Faced with women who could possibly help him but refuse to do so, he soon develops a vindictive dislike for every female he comes in contact with.

Under the influence of anything he can take to get high, a delusional Lonnie sets no limits to what he'll do to make these women pay--including murder.

Lonnie, the honor student came home one day to find his mother comatose. He called 911 and was found deceased after arriving at the hospital. She had been suffering from cancer. Immediately things turned for the worse no matter where Lonnie turned to. The nasty landlord had him evicted and threw away all their belongings. He was trying to get money to give his mother a proper burial. Thankful He was given a place to stay and a job at McDonalds. That didn't last long. He was granted a scholarship to enroll in college and given housing. He begins partying with his neighbor, Kevin and becomes addicted to drugs. After getting into trouble and being assigned to do community service at shelters things get out of control for him as his world is engulfed with pill popping. As his life spins out of control, He begins to kill people. Age 18, He is now in police custody and having to serve his life sentence. Not only when they take him out of the court room, He also kills the court guard and threatens the judge. He has done nothing to prove to his mom how wonderful his life could have been.

Good Read!!!
Lonnie has a lot problems but that don't excuse the fact that he was a murderer and his hate for women. What he did to Trina was inexcusable he was a sick person instead of getting help he went to drugs this book make you at mental illness and what the person is going through. In actually he was a serial killer and how many people did he really kill.

This book was deep. It took me a minute to read because of the graphic reality in which the author wrote. I was able to feel the pain of the circumstances that all the characters were in. This is truly a book not meant for the faint of heart. After reading this book and meeting the author, I was thoroughly impressed.

It is the saddest story ever. I kept waiting on Lonnie to get it together and do justice to his mother's memory, but it wasn't to be. What a waste of a young life
