First, I was surprised this book was even listed on "Goodreads". I read the paperback version, not the Kindle version. I chose the "K" version because it had the only photo of the book cover.
I picked up this book at my church's library for some Sabbath reading. My grandmother used to correspond with people on Pitcairn Island by handwritten letters many, many years ago. She even had some wood carvings some of the inhabitants made, i.e., turtle, a bird, letter opener, etc... Wish I had them today.
Note that this is religious themed book. The first few chapters tell the story of how Pitcairn Island came to be, and how the later occupants of the island learned that the true seventh day was the Sabbath (Saturday) and not Sunday. My only complaint about the book is the same message (although an important one) is repeated over and over and over in many different ways but however you spin it the message is the same, Saturday is the true seventh day Sabbath.
If you ever wanted to know which was the "true" Sabbath day (Saturday or Sunday), this book will answer your question. (Actually, the only true answers will be found in the Bible) It is a great book for those who did not grow up believing the seventh day was Saturday but Sunday.
