The rich bloodsuckers don’t want to pay taxes. Too bad, so sad. They’re the least of my problems right now. At the wise suggestion of my beloved mate, I indulge in a little retail therapy so I don’t dismember the pissed off crew of greedy Vamps who don’t want to pay their fair share. How could a trip to the happiest place on earth aka Target go wrong? Let me count the ways… Martha and Jane want to ride in the cart. Vinnie convinces me to buy chicken potholders because everyone needs poultry inspired oven mitts. Most horrifying? I’ve run into the most dastardly and most boring enemy yet, and they’ve turned my happy place into a nightmare. Their diabolical powers have already put Ethan into a trance, and I’m next on their list. I’m going to have to rely on my unconventional crew, Martha, Jane, Vinnie and some undead mimes hopped up on caffeinated blood, if I want to kick ass and end this supernatural snoozefest. Adding my untrustworthy, homicidal sister to the mix might end in catastrophe, but it’s a case of the Devil made me do it. Disaster has struck again, but I’ll handle it on my terms—fashionably and with no mercy. May the best Vamp stay awake long enough to win… and let it be me.
Robyn writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include shoes (the expensive kind), Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, and bejeweled reading glasses. A former professional actress, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count. Writing gives her a chance to have a job where working in her P.J.’s is acceptable. Well, I have never laughed so hard in all my life. A Fashionable Disaster was brilliant. We had the company of Astrid, Martha and Jane along with a few new characters and the story was amazing. Astrid really kicked butt in this book. She was up against some nasty characters and had a ragtag group to help her.
Now if you have read any of The Hot Damned series you know Martha and Jane can get really crude and there was no mistaking them in this story. Oh, my gawd, I laughed and cringed so much. It was really hilarious! Although I think I would have electrocuted Jane and Martha a lot more than Astrid did. You got to love the old girls, but I shake my head so much when I read their antics. Where did the author get their characters from?
As far as characters go Astrid has a cheering squad behind her. She really pulled out all the stops in this book and taught us a rather great lesson of forgiveness. No matter what someone has done to you, you should forgive them.
Robyn Peterman is an exceptional author who can turn a paranormal story into a life's lesson. Although I really don't know how she does it....and maybe that is a good thing. Robyn Peterman thank you for this series. When I discovered you at the start of the pandemic your books really helped me get through it and my anxiety. I can always count on you to make me laugh and have a few hours to forget everything but your book. Thank you so much!!
Highly recommend A Fashionable Disaster and The Hot Damned Series because you won't regret picking up the books. If you like to laugh and get a life's lesson then run to your nearest bookstore, computer or library and pick up this series!
Thank you to Robyn Peterman for allowing me to read an advanced digital copy of this book for an honest review. These are my words and my words alone. While I'm not an eloquent reviewer like some this review is from the heart.
Pookiemama has written another amazing book!! There are some amazing nicknames thrown around in this one! I imagine Pookiemama standing on the red carpet asking the stars what they would call someone's knockers, a little notebook in her tiny purse to write them all down. Astrid has grown into her role as Compassion throughout this series. Her belief in giving second chances is something we all should learn. As is the lesson she learned this time...respect isn't just given, it needs to be earned. Allowing someone the chance is the key...it is up to the person to decide if they want to earn it or not. Only one other thing to add..."By Mennen." Everyone should learn it!!
Well! Where to start? This book brings us back into the world of Astrid, Ethan, Martha, Jane, Vinnie, and can’t forget Uncle F*cker. Astrid’s sister Juliet has decided she wants to make amends. Well it involves alot of chaos, mimes, and beige freaks. This book is hilarious. Of course involves a mission to save Astrid’s beloved mate Ethan after he’s put in a seemingly unbreakable trance along with a hundred other vamps. With a bunch of nonsense clues from Satan they’re off to destinations unknown. It’s quite a ride and an extremely entertaining one. Highly recommended!

I don't want to give anything away, so my review will be short and sweet.
I've missed Astrid, Ethan, and the gang. We even get a cameo by certain Journey Loving Devil.
Like all of Robyn's books A Fashionable Disaster is funny, action-packed, fast pasted, with a lot of heart. The newest installment of the Hot Damned series promises it all and delivers it! We get a few tied up loose ends and new fabulous possibilities.
Absolutely fabulously hilariously to the end. Astrid and her eclectic group never fail to keep you on your toes. You never know what's going to fly out of their mouths, from gross induced images to now never-ending jingles lol. But will it be enough to save the day again?
Astrid is back!! With all her zany cohorts she sets out to find some vampyre’s that are causing some trouble. Deadly trouble. This is one road trip you won’t want to miss!! Laugh your way all the way to the end. Astrid is really putting her compassion to the test!
Astrid and Ethan are back with Martha and the rest of the gang. When Ethan is put in a sleep like trance from the most boring enemy ever . It is up to Astrid and the gang to figure how to wake up the vampires. Target shopping is on hold and the hunt is on, will they be able to find out how to wake the vamps and will they survive . Astrid and the gang are back and honestly funnier then ever. Astrid has grown into her role as compassion but she has to put on her big girl panties and figure out what is going on and how to fix it . She has come a long way since the beginning. Martha and Jane are back and funnier then ever. Vinnie is sweet and wanting to help find out what is happening. We also get to meet Astrid's sister who is trying to redeem herself and also new vampires that suck the energy out of you which are boring everyone to basically sleep. These characters are well written and you fall in love all of them. This is the 17 book in the series but the story gets funnier and funnier . The author is one funny writer who can put her characters in any situation and make it funny. This is a fast read and I laughed so hard at what the author put the characters through. I really like this series and can't wait till the next book. So if you want a fun fast read that will have you splitting a gut laughing . Check out this series.
Omg yes! I was so happy to be back with Astrid and Ethan! It feels like forever since we've had a book all about her. Astrid is still snarky and fabulous and hilarious. She always kicks ass and takes names. Vinnie got to come on this adventure with her too and he is just a cute little tiny delight. We met some awesome side characters who happen to be friends of Vinnie and are just as adorable, and even better that Astrid is semi terrified of them! And of course her side kicks Martha and Jane. They will always be my favorite. It's like a game to see how many names they can call Astrid in a chapter. The names are incredibly awful and hilarious. I love it. Astrids sister Juliet was a focus, and good thing Astrid is compassion and no one else cuz boy does she have some atonement to do. I love how Astrid is compassion and how she sees her world and deals with the people or enemies she meets because it makes it so her stories always have an HEA. I like the craziness and violence, the hilarity but I also like happy endings. I do hope we get way more Astrid and Ethan. But I am super hopefully we get to continue Juliets story next. Now that seemed very steamy and interesting.

Oh. My. Gosh. Undead mimes? Beige fangless bastards? Robyn Peterman has an imagination like no other. Who else could coin the phrase “shirt-potatoes” and get away with it? Zany doesn’t begin to describe her fertile mind and wicked sense of humor. This book is lightning-paced and you’ll be breathless by the end (and so so sad when it’s over). Not only does it feature our fabulous fashionista Astrid, but you’ll get peeks at some of our old friends as well, including my personal favorites, those glamorous old dames we know and love, Martha and Jane! When I grow up, I want to be able to wear sequined tube tops and socks with sandals too. Don’t hesitate – pick up this adventurous read and hide away somewhere there’s a lot of soundproofing because you’ll be laughing out loud throughout the entire book.
Astrid and the clan are back in another wonky action-packed adventure~ While Astrid, Jane, Martha, and Vinnie are out at Target, they run into the weirdest creatures. They fly back home to discover two hundred vamps and Ethan entranced by the same group. Trying to discover what and who they are will take some finagling. Satan will have a few words to input on the situation. Astrid has been trying to rehabilitate her nemesis who will help in this job. What they will find is a new ancient breed of vamps that no one truly knows how to deal with. Someone will have to delve into another’s mind to find any information about these new enemies. Astrid is the Chosen One, and if anyone can get to the bottom of things, make enemies into friends, rehabilitate the most evil, and discover a cure…it will be her~
OMG! I am so excited! Robyn Peterman’s Hot Damned series is how I became hooked on the fabulous Mrs. P’s books.
Astrid, Ethan, Jane and Martha along with other fan favorites are back! Of course Astrid is kicking butt while looking Fabulous. This time she must truly embrace her role as the Chosen One, and true immortal Compassion to save her mate and true love, Ethan.
Because of Astrid’s decree that the vampires need to start paying taxes, Ethan suggests she takes a day of retail therapy, while he deals with the irate vampires. She happily heads off to Target. Where Astrid and her posse encounter the mythical race of vampires, EV’s. And that’s where Astrid’s newest adventure begins.
One thing you never do is mess with Astrid’s family. Not ever ever ever. Yet someone did and they will be very sorry for that. Ethan and others have been put in a trance, one that they may never wake from. The culprits? A group of beige, non-blood-drinking vampires. You heard me. So Astrid goes in search of the ones that hurt her mate, looking for justice and a cure. She enlists the best party she can think of—Martha and Jane, Count Vincent, and her psycho sister Juliet. They need to find the strange vamps and a cure for the neverending sleep her mate is in. A Fashionable Disaster, Book 17 of the Hot Damned Series is a triumph for author Robyn Peterman. It is fun, exciting, and has lots of action. A 15 on a scale of 1-10!!!
What a wonderful visit with Astrid and the gang! A mystery is afoot, and Ethan is in danger. Astrid has to figure out what’s going on, and how to fix it. Of course, she has her merry band of Vampyres to help her save the day...from boredom? LOL
From the first meeting at the Target, the beige menaces are a pain in the butt. But to defeat them, Astrid has to deal with (gasp) MIMES! Add to that her homicidal sister, a man from a long time back, and the boob-tube-twins (Martha and Jane), success is not guaranteed. Even with Vinnie and the caffeinated blood, it will not be easy. But to save Ethan, she will do what must be done.
I can’t wait to try the “earworm defeater” method!
I positively inhaled this book, like I do all of Robyn Peterman's books! While I love the humor, the action, and all the rest that I've come to expect, I was extremely glad that she gave little reminders of who someone is and what had happened in past books. 17 books in (plus reading all of the other books of hers that I've read!), my brain gets a bit cloudy. The reminders were most welcome! Even better, they were brief and didn't clog up the narrative.
Robyn is really good at making up new creatures, scenarios, and craziness, and this book is no exception. I really hope she continues to write for this series! I do have a feeling about who the main character will be in book 18, and I can't wait to read it!
Astrid is back - and better than ever. When a new foe threatens the love of her undead life, Astrid must put her compassion to the test and form a truce with someone from her past.
Leaving Ethan behind under the vigilant watch of The Kev, Astrid heads to Toledo to defeat the most boring enemy on earth with her rag tag group of unlikely heroes. To save her mate, Astrid must put aside her fears and really step into the shoes of those she didn't believe she could respect - and learns some strong and powerful lessons.
As always - this book is filled with laughter, sarcasm - and so much love and wisdom. A wonderful addition to the series that you don't want to miss.
This series does not disappoint with the laughs and profanity!! I actually lost count how many different names Martha and Jane come up with for Astrids chesticles....
Astrid decides to go shopping at Target with Vinny, Martha and Jane when they stumble upon some strange Paranormals who are beige and soooo boring they will put u to sleep. After abit of a scary encounter, Astrid comes home to find Ethan in a coma with all the vampires that he had been meeting with.
Astrid and her crazy crew are in a race to try and save Ethan, with the help of some strange companions, 2 undead geriatrics in booty shorts, a sister who is possible unredeemable and a couple of mimes....
Go on a fun adventure with Astrid and her crew and find love, compassion and forgiveness.
I didn't realize how much I missed this world till I began listening and OMG, I absolutely love it! So many crazy things happen in this book that it was a fun rollercoaster. I laughed so hard on many scenes but one scene in particular was during their car ride. It was so good. The narrator, Jessica Almasy is the perfect vice for Astrid and her motley crew. I absolutely just love the variety of tones and inflections that she uses for each character making them unique. If you haven't listened to this series, be sure to check it out. It's such a treat!
Holy cow I couldn’t put this book down. I actually read this in one day!!! When Astrid wants to leave the house to get away from the gathering of old vamps angry because she wants them to pay taxes she goes to her happy place. Target!! Astrid takes Martha, Jane and Vinny along for the fun. As they are shopping the aisles they are attacked by a strange group of people. Getting home and discovering Ethan and the group of vamps have been knocked out they have to find out what happened and how to help them. This is a hilarious tense book and I absolutely loved it.
Each book in this series out shines the previous one. This was hysterical as expected with so much respect and compassion it should be a lesson to all of us. The characters in this series are rolling on the ground laughing hysterically. Jane and Martha are WOW! How Ms. Peterman comes up with characters is unbelievable. But you fall in love with them as you read thru the series and learn more and more about them. I look forward to seeing what happens with Astrid and her sister and her sister and Rhys. Can't wait for the next book in this series. An excellent read!
This is number 17 of the series and I've read them all so far. I've really enjoyed reading these books; they're highly entertaining, creative, and fun! There's vampires, a kick ass FMC, and of course 2 dirty old ladies that are the most incompetently competent characters I think I've ever read. The romance in 17 isn't really as prominent as it is in the other books, but that lack of spice fits this one's storyline. The cast of characters is as quirky as always and the plot continues to advance in a logical way. If you enjoy comedy paranormal romance, this series is definitely for you.
I have loved Astrid from the moment she landed on the pages of a previous story in this world. This story had me laughing and smiling, the entire time and, I totally enjoyed this Amazing story. What a Fun Ride! Extremely Awesomely Done!! I Loved It!!! No spoilers! I received an ARC from the Author and I am Leaving this Totally Honest Review because I choose to and I think this story is Amazing!!!
Astrid and the gang are back with another hilarious adventure. While attempting retail therapy at Target Astrid and her posse run into the beigest most boring creatures. Of course, it all goes downhill from there. You will laugh through this entire book all while seeing how much Astrid and her gang grow as people. An old character is furthered in this installment, and you really start rooting for her. Finished the book in two hours it is a great read.
I love Astrid and her group of goofy lovable characters! There are so many hints as the book goes along what the solution is to defeating the beige bores. I giggled uncontrollably throughout this book! Martha, Jane, and Vinny are some of my favorites in Astrid's world so road tripping with them was hysterical! So many bad jokes! Juliet and Rhys appear to have an interesting story coming out of this one. I can hardly wait to see what unfolds there!
Another outrageously entertaining adventure in one of my favorite worlds. Robyn Peterman never fails to make me laugh out loud or fall more in love with her characters.
Astrid will forever be a favorite of mine. Astrid is over the top crazy in the best way, but when she gets together with her friends I'm always amazed at all the adventures they have. I will never go into a Target again without a smile thinking about this one...
This story even as amazing as it is, has a message for us all. Respect and second chances. Astrid and her gang are back and are just as hilariously batsh*t crazy as usual. A new group of Vampires bring about more troubles and it's up to Astrid, Jane, Martha, Vinnie and others to seek them out and stop the madness. Robin's humor is over the top and will keep you smiling for days.
Astrid and her crazy gang are back! A Target run goes wrong when they run into some boring creatures who aren’t what they seem. All the crazy hilarity you expect in a great story with fabulous characters. The series is amazing and I always enjoy each book when it comes out. I received an advance readers copy I’d this fabulous book and I am leaving a voluntary review.
Robyn Peterman did it again. I couldn't put this book down and can't wait to read about Astrid's next adventure. In this one Ethan and a bunch of other vampires were put in a trance. It's up to Astrid and the few that were with her to find the energy vamps and reverse it. I was surprised where the books went with Juliet. I can't recommend this book enough.
Astrid and her crazy crew are back at it. This time to save Ethan, her mate & love of her immortal life. But to do it she has to make some hard decisions about trust and second chances. To try to save the vamps that lie in a trance back home her little crazy posse head off to save the day with snarky jokes, mimes, and serious fighting.
