The current editions of this book do not include the test material covering planning, syslog, SNMPv3, or ip sla. These are included as downloads on the web site, so make sure you grab the addendum for chapter 1 and appendix B from the book’s web page. Those downloads cover the missing topics. This book is a fairly straight technical explanation of all the topics. It’s a dry read and while it can be useful, I don’t think it covers the topics in a way that left me understanding them as well as I could have.
Typical Cisco Press material. Very high quality, concise information for anyone preparing for the exam or trying to polish their Cisco abilities.
Important to note, this book like the Boson study material should be considered supplemental only. If you attempt the exam without studying additional sources the chance of passing is slim.
Attention CCNP Switch studiers! While I will concede this book does have some useful information and present it fairly well, it really doesn't give you the tidbits that are relevant to this exam's multiple choice questions. It will prepare you just fine for the configurations, but you're going to need to supplement your reading to pass. The practice test questions provided are absolute garbage - lots of random facts, but not the right random facts you actually need on the exam.
Buen libro, facil de entender en la gran mayoria de los temas. Sin embargo, le falta profundizar y tratar en algunos temas que hacen parte del examen de certificacion.
