⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a perfect end to the men of New York series. We have watched Nico from book two and there is just something awesome about an Alpha type male brought to his knees when love finds him. Emilia is his perfect match and they go through a lot of twists and turns to find their HEA. Loved seeing Sebastian and the other boys and can’t wait to see what the French family add to this found family.

My Chance is the last book in this series and features Nico and Emilia. Emilia is the daughter of the disgraced billionaire Brian Cole and even though they are estranged, the effect from his fall from grace has affected her adversely😢 She’s lost business and unfortunately, it goes from bad to worse when she walks in to Nico in her office, demanding she work for the mob in uncovering her father’s secrets for them.
I loved Emilia as she was fiesty and sassy and really gave as good as she got with her bantering with Nico. I loved how Nico was a strong, Mafia enforcer but a really teddy bear inside when it came to Emilia😍 Quite a few secrets revealed in this one…with one I suspected, so I wasn’t surprised when it was revealed.
Can’t wait to jump into my next Skye series, the Boston Billionaires❤️
Ever since we met Nico in My Destiny (Men of New York #2), I’ve definitely been looking forward to his story, and this did not disappoint! I actually think this is my favorite one in the series, and it brings things full circle with how our characters are connected. I will say that I think My Chance can be read as a stand-alone without needing the other books to understand what happens, but if you do read it without having read the other books first, then you definitely want to go back and read the others because you’ll be missing out on great characters. Now into the review!
Emilia Cole is the estranged daughter of Brian Cole, who is the father of Daniel Cole, Catherine’s ex (Catherine’s story is My Fight). Emilia has grown up to be a strong, independent woman, never having felt she had a family since her mother passed when she was very young and she never formed a close relationship with her father or brother. She strove to succeed as a lawyer, but with Brian Cole’s corruption breaking the news, she is now in a tough spot. Emilia is sassy and smart though, never backs down, enjoys solving riddles, and is fierce. She also has a big heart.
Nico is definitely a teddy bear. When we met him in My Destiny, you could see he had a protective but charming side. Here, we see that he not only can be confident and arrogant at times (that smirk!) but also attentive and caring (a self-proclaimed and later Emilia-proclaimed gentleman!). He is 100% loyal to Sebastian and the rest of the crew, and is definitely a family man as he cared for his sister when she was very sick. I also liked seeing his bond with Sebastian, Dante, and Carter.
Nico goes head to head with Emilia the moment he meets her, and throughout this book they go back and forth, pushing each other’s buttons but (secretly) enjoying the banter. I also liked how they let their shields drop around each other and were able the share things about themselves and their vulnerabilities. They also work well together and form an unbreakable connection even when there’s some doubts and the author does well illustrating their emotional and physical chemistry. I was definitely smiling throughout this whole book reading about them, and I think they are definitely one of my favorite literary couples! No spoilers, but having Little Bean as a nickname was the icing on the cake seeing as this couple started to bond because of a bean!
Along with these two, I was overjoyed to see the return of Sebastian, Dante, Carter, Goldie, Annie, Catherine and Ivy. While we didn’t see too much of Annie, it still felt like we were getting a reunion/homage to these characters as this is the last in the series. Any time these characters had dialogue or interactions, I was thinking to myself, yep that’s them! as they acted and spoke exactly how and why we fell in love with them. I absolutely loved the moment Emilia had with Ivy, our ever endearing, walking encyclopedia of animal facts and now we know why. It really came back full circle. It was also great to see our couples and interactions with each other. I really want to hug them all as they’re a cute family.
Additionally, I thought the mystery and suspense was well done and kept me on my toes. The reason why Emilia was brought into the fold and then leading to all the revelations and truths being uncovered was well written and the pacing was just right. The plot twists were well placed and unexpected and the introduction of new characters like Hugo and Sophia have me curious about the next series coming (announced in the bonus epilogue which you need to read as well!). This book definitely had me glued to the pages. We really got a story filled with lots of emotion as we follow these characters through the pages.
Overall, this series has been a joy to read and one I would recommend without a doubt. I feel like my review isn’t doing it enough justice for how much I loved it. I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters who have won my heart but I know I’ll definitely go back to revisit them and think about them. Indeed, I’m marking this as a favorite!.

Sorry, this is the worst of the series for me. I was baffled by all the 5 star reviews, and then as i read through them, I realised every single one is an arc review. Figures.
The FMC is just stupid, sorry.. she knows he is working for the Mob and constantly accepts a made coffee from him with barely a thought of it being drugged, he breaks into her office (and she is never concerned) he then breaks into her house while she us asleep and is there when she wakes up and she isnt concerned that he touched her or did anything?? (women know better). She also accepts the way he "barks" at her all the time. Instant icks when he says things like "I like your neck when you swallow (as in coffee, you cheeky ones), and my flight response was in effect when he says "your mind, body life is mine" not cute sorry.
The "accidental" pregnancy is not an accident. An accidental pregnancy is failed birth control, drunk sex etc. And not realising until the test is positive. They had sober unprotected sex and both instantly acknowledged he didn't use a condom and she isn't on birth control. She has a mild panic about it but never says.. "Go get me the morning after pill!". If you are that concerned right after, this is on your mind till you take that damn pill and you get your period. There is no accidental here. And then you are booking a doctors appointment to get on birth control, not thinking it's fine, Let's keep going at it. YOUR NOT TEENAGERS And the audacity of the author to have a grown arse man say: "dont worry. It's one time. Im sure we will be fine, bambolina. We will just be careful from now on." WTF he isnt 16 he is a grown arse adult. How many other times has he used this bullshit and made women figure it all out.
It baffles me that this is written by a woman honestly. And she expects us to accept this and swoon??
The banter and the chasing to get her to work with them could have been better. She just gave in like nothing. There could have been more challenges from her and maybe more grovelling from him. It was just that he gave her a coffee, made alpha arsehole remarks, she said no, he left and came back the next day - repeat for a week. Could have been a lot better and funnier. Maybe included Cindy in the banter. (She was the definition of a side character. You could have seriously deleted her, and there would be no impact.)
And why are men always written that all they think about is sex, but not just normal sex it's always spanking, bending over things, "screaming their name so everyone knows their his", "wimpering and writhing under them" And the amount of times that it was written "my cock was pressed against my zipper" control your self you teenager. He even had this issue when she was having a panic attack. WTF come on, that's so gross.
The overall story could have had so many more twists and turns if we removed some smut and focused on the boxes and her discovering her past. It was so fast that in the end, it had no impact. I wasn't shocked or really cared. And im sorry, but no, Mafia just forgives another for kidnapping and hitting the pregnant girl of one of the senior members. Hugo would have been severally punished, not just a lecture from his dad. (Bad grown arse man trying to play mafia boss.. bad dont do it again) What was that.. Sebastian's supposed to be the big, bad scary mafia boss, but all he did was stare at him.
We needed more Cat and Ivy moments. Again, this was fast tracked (1 chapter), then move on. We got a Goldie mention at the end, but no Annie? It was like the author had a checklist and just wrote chapters for them. And removed details and growth for smut.
I just didn't like Nico he wasn't a warm character and had no growth. He was only nice to his sister.
Sorry, it's not a favourite and a shame to end the series on this one.
Part of Men of New York each book can be read as a standalone. Hang on and buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!!. Emilia is so strong, intelligent despite not growing up with much family it was just her mom who taught her how to endure, to overcome, to be who she is meant to be and becoming the independent woman working as an attorney never really developing a relationship with her father or brother but lately her father is in the news with all his corruption deeds made public. Nico sexy as all get out Molenti mafia ruthless when needed, brutal no doubt, but protective of those he care about, arrogant as you may expected and loyal to a fault willing to work for what or in this case who he wants on his team helping him fight but protecting him as well while he go after his enemies and maybe …just maybe a few of hers. Emilia doesn’t want to work with the arrogant gangster but her father acts have put her in a position of all her clients walking away and her bank account a little bare so when said gangster reaches out she doesn’t want to accept but the attraction is so instant, it is intense and the magnetic pull is too strong so she finds herself agreeing even though the other part of her mind tells her to run the other direction. But his lips, his touches, his smirk, his words, his protection are so much more interesting 😊 again buckle up because this is one wild but amazing ride he shows her there is more to him than just being a gangster, he opens her eyes to the truth behind her father, her brother, but he makes her feel apart of a family something she hasn’t felt since her mother but is it enough, will he get the revenge he so desperately want, and can they find the happiness that they both deserve?.

This is book four in The Men of New York and it is Nico and Emilia’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Emilia is a lawyer and doing well with her business until her father who she hasn’t had any contact with for many years as he is violent, nasty and shady ends up disappearing after the deals that he had made came to light and now it is effecting her business because of her name so she will have to work extra hard if she is to save not only her business but also her reputation but at the moment she feels like the ship is sinking and her along with it and she doesn’t no what to do next. Nico owes everything to Sebastian as not only did he save Nico’s sister Sorella’s life when they didn’t think that she would make it but also made things better for his family which he will be forever grateful for so now he works for Sebastian and would do anything and everything for him and his family regardless of what the outcome or situation would be even though he misses his time with his family. When Nico and Emilia meet the attraction and chemistry was instant, strong and intense and even though Emilia gave him a run for his money and kept saying no to his demands some things are hard to control and fight and eventually after many ups and downs and backwards and forward issues between them they come together in a hot and intense way that I thought that my kindle would melt so make sure you have something cold ready because believe me you are going to need it while reading this book. There are many twists and turns along the way and secrets are revealed but I couldn’t put this book down as the storyline pulled me in right from the first page and wouldn’t let me go as I was totally hooked as it was so addictive. I can’t wait to read the next book by Samantha Skye who is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her readers attention and on the edge of there seats. I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will not be disappointed.

They send Nico to persuade the beautiful lawyer. Nico falls for her sassiness and sexiness. Together they work for business and pleasure. Soon she shows her talent and unlocks her father's secret and her past. She carries happy news for Nico, but she is kidnapped. More than one secret unrolls. Can Emi handle them and live for her love? “I feel the light flames of possessiveness flicking at my skin.”
Well, it’s done. Nico and Emilia’s story is the last book in the series. I’m so bummed! Not at the story! It was wonderful. I’m just sad it’s the last one. Yes, I know Samantha has a spin-off series planned starting next year, but it’s not the same! I love these Men of New York!
Anyway, enough of that. Let’s discuss this book. I’ve been looking forward to Nico’s story since the beginning. He’s been a constant presence throughout the series and I knew his book would be enjoyable. I loved how underneath his mobster outside he was such a gentleman. And I loved watching him fall madly in love with a woman who had no hesitation in standing up to him. Emilia was a great match for him. I felt so sorry for her. She had such a sad, lonely life and absolutely deserved to find love and happiness. The chemistry between Nico and Emilia just sparked! It was fantastic! There were a lot of surprises in this book although, to be honest, I guessed most of them. But they were still a lot of fun! I can’t wait until we get the new series next year but I have to say, I don’t know how Samantha thinks she will ever be able to redeem that big jerk Hugo. I’m afraid she’s trying to do the impossible, especially after everything that went down in this book.
I give this a two star because it is a step above book two however not even close to books one and three. The storyline started out good however this author loves her sex chapters and once again there are way too many which I skipped. It became repettive and all the action was at the end of the book which by that time I was getting bored and just wanted it to end.
Emilla: She is a well educated women who is picked up by the mob and she has no fear at all. Really? I didn't like when she came across information she didn't share it with Nico. Then she uses that information to see what she can find out. Remember, we talking the mob. She goes to the cemetery and is kidnapped right under the noses of two men who are suppose to be protecting her. There was no surprise about her father Brian Cole.
Nico: He's a big bad mob guy and falls apart over a woman. Really?
What made books one and three so good was they had a good solid storyline and the relationships between the lead male and female characters were developed. Books two and four did not have that.
This author was new to me however I can't be buying books that are one and two stars.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. I have KU so it is rare that I purchase a book outside of it, but when My Legacy came up as a Kindle suggestion I was intrigued. By the end of that first book I was hooked on the series and My Chance was another great installment.
Nico was exactly the hot, feisty alpha I was hoping he would be. Add in that he's an expert baristo and he is sweet perfection.
One of my favorite things about this series are the strong, sometimes sassy heroines and Emilia did not disappoint. She was smart and independent and stood up for herself. The sassy banter between her and Nico was very entertaining.
The story itself was also entertaining. Though I had a good portion of it figured out early on it was still alot of fun reading the twists and turns as the story played out.
I'm sad to say goodbye to The Men of NY, and I'm sad I have to wait until 2024 for The Men of Dragon fly, but if its anything like this series it will be worth the wait.
Excellent story. I enjoyed the antagonistic banter between Nico and Amelia. For all that Amelia achieved in her life, her father ruined her career and her life. Nico swoops in and gives her a chance to be paid to work on a sensitive project. The attraction between them was interesting. Amelia kept fighting it as Nico kept pushing it. Amelia proved she was as smart and talented as Nico and Sebastien felt she was. Towards the end there was a reason her father hated her and treated her like crap. It was very surprising. I wish there was more detail on it. Maybe in the next book.

This book sure was a rollercoaster. I’m be never read a mafia story so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I liked it. The plot was intense and kept me riveted (although it seemed to drag on at times) and I very much liked the characters. The H was a pill, but a very likable, sweet and bossy pill. The h was interesting, but she annoyed me at times like… lady, you can get your law practice back on track after the smoke clears. She also tended to be a bit whiny. I appreciated her spine though.
The conclusion of the story was super dramatic and had a twist I really didn’t see coming.
If you like mafia romances, dramatic stories or the bossy H that grows on you, definitely worth a read.

Emilia has always been the forgotten child to her father and has always only had herself to rely on to make her way in the world. She has pushed herself to get through college and has finally reached her goal of having her own law practice and the life she has always wanted. She has nothing to do with her father, especially after he is wanted for white collar crimes and trying to take control of areas belonging to the NY mob. Since his disappearance, the mob looks to Emilia for answers. It's Nico's job to persuade her to cross over to the dark side and help them find out what they want to know. The more time she spends with Nico and going through her father's things, the more she learns about herself. I loved how they started out on different sides, but they weren't so different after all.
I have been waiting for Nicos’ story since forever… but after reading My Destiny and after the ending on My Fight I was more than ready for his story, and it did not disappoint!!!
The fact that Emilia is the heroine in this story *chef kiss*…
Love the bond between Emilia and Ivy.
And those twists!!! I got to admit that you had me confused (in the best possible way) with all the secrets that were coming out!!!
2024 can’t get here fast enough…… I mean, I only have to wait three-hundred and fifteen more days….
I received an ARC of this story and this is my voluntary review.
Thank you Samantha Skye for delivering another great book in the Men of New York series. I loved Nico and Emilia’s connection and their banter. Emilia has been through a lot and she was able to learn about her past by helping Nico and having the family she always wanted, I was hoping her mum might pop up at the end and give the ultimate HEA. Nico wanting to help her find answers as she found personal things about her life, made me swoon. Of course loved how the men from the other books are included as well.
I was so hoping their would be a story about Nico and Samantha did not disappoint. I love the sass between Nico and Emelia. While the violence was much more toned down in this story, it was clear Emelia very much suffered from neglect. I loved how this to get together. I love Emelia has a better family that who she thought her father was. I really enjoyed the connection with Ivy. Now to see what happens with Hugo and Sofia.

Emilia was not expecting the electric connection between herself and Nico when they collided into each other's lives. Animosity soon turns to lust as they are forced into working together. Lust soon deepens into true feelings when the shields they protect themselves with are slowly lowered the more they spend time together. Insecurities, doubts and misunderstandings threaten to tear apart what they have spent time trying to build between them. Will Emilia find the strength to stand by the man she loves? Can Nico prove his love for Emilia is true?
Great romance quite unexpected I loved the characters from the start because they should never have met on the same side, between Nico, the mafia soldier, and Emilia, the lawyer who helps to imprison the criminals. They both have a strong character, and they discover each other as much as we do during this investigation through the boxes of Amélia's father's past. The story takes place in the mafia world so there is a little violence, but not too much, however, the story is intense, hot and full of twists and turns. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I put this book off for quite a bit (sorry booksrout) and I was actually pleasantly surprised by it. I had not read the rest of the series and I might actually read it now. I thought it was also just a bunch of tropes put together and not really that original. Like ohhh no she got kidnapped what a shocking surprise after she finds out some good news like ;/ I thought his possessiveness was very cute BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN MORE like girl put a tracker in her you know you want to I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Nico and Amelia's story involves betrayal and mystery. Amelia has achieved some of her dreams to only have her father ruin it all.
Nico offers her the opportunity to work on a sensitive project. This leads to their attraction becoming an interesting one. Amelia wants to keep things professional while Nico keeps pushing for them to explore these feelings. Once Amelia proves how capable she is, will this reopen her career? Will she finally give in to Nico?

This is the fourth book in the series but reads brilliantly as a stand-alone. The only problem I need to read the first three in the series. Two opposites, they live on the opposite side of the law and there is no middle ground. One has to step over the line, for good. A well-written story, fast-paced, with danger, intrigue, and lots of tension. A great read with plenty of depth to require a reread.

Book four in the Men of New York series brings Nico and Emilia's story. The author does a great job developing the story and painting her scenes perfectly. She pulled me in with all of the secrets and twists and kept me reading right to the end. The story moves fluidly and is a terrific read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Samantha Skye always writes a great story. A mobster offers a lawyer a job. She is hesitant to take the offer. He is not giving up on her. They will have a hot romance while dealing some drama and danger. You will be glued to your book until the end.

This was a wonderful mafia story with super main characters and their story will keep you glued to your book from start to finish. It doesn't always happen that I read a book in one go, but the author managed it with this story :) Highly recommended if you love mafia stories.

This was Nico& Amelia’s book. At no point in her law career did she think she’d have a mobster in her office, offering her a job. Hard pass. But Nico Molenti is as persistent as he is...persuasive. And thanks to her dad’s white-collar antics, her client list is looking as bare as her bank account will be in a few weeks. This was a roller coaster ride for me. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
Fantastic ending to Men Of New York series! Samantha brought all the suspense and heat to My Chance! I loved Nico and Emilia's journey and chemistry their banta was amazing! Fantastic ending! Looking forward to the next series!
