This is one of my favourite books because of its emphasis on communion and fellowship with the LORD. This emphasis is clearly the experience of the author and it is the foundation for the exploits the LORD did through him. It is not a book to debate over; it is a book for experiencing God.
I have been doing prayer walking and prophetic acts since 1984, but did not know much about Henry Gruver until this past year and read this book in the past month.
The book, as I understand, is no longer in print, however, I was able to locate and download a pdf copy from the website https://henrygruver.org which is maintained by Gruver's son. The pdf is 101 pages and includes some of Henry's testimonies to make points about listening to the Lord and obeying exactly what He is showing you to do or say.
This is also a point that I have emphasized strongly in a book I wrote in 2009 and have just republished in June of 2022 titled "In Favor of the Saints: Living, Standing and Taking Possession of the Kingdom in this Evil Day" by Don Upham. (this book posted here on Goodreads, is available in both paperback and e-book and I would really appreciate reviews or comments if you choose to read it)
Several points that really touched me in Henry's Handbook were the concepts of Remittance of other's sins, Not taking the actions of others personally, and discerning the Father's heart for the people of the area that you are walking or cleansing.
I would highly recommend this power-packed little book be read by every Christian whether your calling is to prayer walking, spiritual warfare, intercession, or just a day-to-day ambassador of the Kingdom. Henry graduated to heaven in October 2019.
I was already familiar with the principles and teachings in the book, but there were a few points he made that *were* a further piece I needed. I loved the testimonies, and that is where the real power of this book is, in the testimonies that stir up faith.
