See Mickey Mouse as he was want meant to be seen: Solving mysteries, fighting off pirates, and just generally saving the day. Some classic stories that comprise a "Greatest Hits" of sorts for the mouse. Featuring a rare Mickey Mouse story by seminal artist Carl Barks.
These stories really are classic, that's for sure. Unfortunately, some of them just don't hold up well at all-like the one where they travel in a tiny spaceship through the Microcosmos to stop a counterfeiter with an annoying as f*** scientist named Eega Beevah that says everything with a "P" in front of it. So if he has to go to the bathroom, he says, "I have to go to the p-bathroom!" It's not even funny at first and gets old real quick. My son and I actually ended dropping out of that story right around the time Pete and then Mickey grabbed a f***ing gun and shoved it in someone's face. Holy cow! This book is sort of written and drawn like it's more of a series of adventures, rather than something funny-like a comic strip. Matter of fact, there's really not much that's funny through the whole book. I love the old Mickey cartoons from Disney, even when Mickey is a bit rascally (like Bugs Bunny), but some of these stories are hard to get through...especially with a kid.
Mickey and friends arrive in a brand-new collection for all-ages. Included are stories with Goofy, Donald, and Minnie, just to name a few. Each story is a self-contained story in just a few pages. Whether you are a long-time fan of these characters or a young kid just being introduced, there will be something here to make you laugh.
