Rating based on writing and illustration quality. Personally, it’s more of a one to two star because of the complete lack of faith or hope. If you have no hope of life after death, no hope of there being more than this life, this would be a good book to talk about death with your children. I used it as a launchpad to discuss with my 7 year old what the author left out and why we do not grieve as the people in this story do. But I do appreciate an author willing to tackle the idea that children die, not just adults.
