(Malayalam: പി. പത്മരാജന്‍; 23 May 1946 – 24 January 1991) was an Indian author, screenwriter, and film director who was known for his landmark works in Malayalam literature and Malayalam cinema. Padmarajan was the founder of a new school of film making in Malayalam, along with Bharathan, in the 1980s, which created films that were widely received while also being critically acclaimed.

Padmarajan was noted for his fine and detailed screenwriting and expressive direction style. Padmarajan made some of the landmark motion pictures in Malayalam cinema, including masterpieces like Oridathoru Phayalvaan (1981), Koodevide (1983), Arappatta Kettiya Gramathil (1986), Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal (1986), Thoovanathumbikal (1987), Moonnam Pakkam (1988), Innale (1989) and Njan Gandharvan (1991).

Enjoyed all the stories.
Strangely my edition was missing last 2 stories (around 10 pages) which were listed in the ToC.

The last story was the inspiration behind the famous Mohanlal movie (Thanmathra) where he deals with Alzheimer's disease. I was unaware of this & as I started reading, I realized the resemblance.
The ending of the movie is different but realistic, sticking to a true experience normally expected of people with this condition, but Padamarajan's Orma has a fantasy based turn of events towards the later part of the story.

Looking forward to exploring more of his short stories collections.

Few good stories worth reading and remembering. Lola, Maravi, Kaikeyi, Shurpanaka and Kunju. I have a feeling that I have not done justice to this book by rushing through some of the stories. But as of now that is all I could afford.
