Normally, finding an assassin at the foot of your bed in the middle of the night is a recipe for disaster. But for Fitz, it turns out to be a doorway into a whole new world. Soon, Fitz's life becomes split between his daylight duties with Burrich and his nocturnal lessons deep below the Keep. But when his new master sets him a seemingly impossible task, the boy will find his loyalty stretched to the breaking point.
The first comics installment of best-selling author Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice!
Finally we get to see the beginning of his actual training!
I'm gonna be honest - even though it's in the title, I was so bored with the novel that I forgot that he actually apprentices to be an assassin XD So it was good to see it happen in this issue!
The artwork is so gloomy that I'd really like it to branch out from brown for once. Chade is one ugly dude, I have to say.
It's nice to see Fitz growing and to hear him finally talking a bit, but the story is kinda dull. It's travelling faster in comic form, but all the setup is just kinda dull.
So I guess, to summarise, it's still a bit slow for my liking. It would great if something interesting happened soon.
Things are really picking up for Fitz. This is when the original novel starts to get really interesting, too. I'm remembering how much I love Chade and this developing story!
