One evening at bedtime, Charlotte finds a tiny ghost in her bed. She quickly discovers that the ghost does not know how to share. Despite his chorus of “Mine!" that rings through the house, he and the patient Charlotte become fast friends. They spend every moment of the next day with each other, making pancakes, playing games, and learning along the way that it is more fun to share.

4,25 sterren - Nederlandse hardcover

Mathilde Stein is a famous Dutch storybook author, and has several very cute books translated into English. This one is probably my favorite, about a ghost who gets lost and meets a little girl. The ghost doesn't like to share, and yells mine! at everything. But she teaches him the value of sharing. Very cute.

My son enjoyed this book so much that we checked it out from the library, kept it the full nine weeks we were able to, and then purchased it for him. A little ghost shows up at a house but he doesn't know how to share. The girl teaches him how to share. They celebrate with pancakes. Pancakes!!!! It's a sweet book.

Obviously written to drive home the message "it's nice to share". And good luck with getting this book to teach that to your 2 year old (!) Still, the message is wrapped around a charming little story that can be enjoyed even without emphasizing the moral, and the art is sweet.

A possessive ghost learns to share. Cute, if forgettable.

This story tells about a little girl teaching a ghost to share.

I like this story as an interactive experience for younger grades, plus the kids really like the story.

Great art! There are a few great opportunities to ask a child about the story. Ex. "What kind of face did Charlotte make?" and what kind of man owns a haunted house? What does he sound like?

When a friendly, but possessive ghost invades her room, Charlotte finds a way to enjoy it. Will it last? Impressive #Ghost Story for younger readers.

One morning Charlotte woke to find a very greedy ghost in her house. It seemed the only word he knew was 'Mine'. Charlotte ignored his bad behavior and made other choices. Finally the ghost feeling lonely decided to learn how to share with Charlotte so they could play together. When the ghost learns that his family misses him, he leaves Charlotte's house but sends her a nice postcard saying "mine" and 'Yours'.
