This was a fun read. It won't teach you the language, but if you already have some Latin, it will teach you classical idiom and modern neologisms (e.g., "first-class ticket," "train station"). As for neologisms, the general dictionary in the back is probably the most helpful one out there until someone gets around to making a Latin-English version of the Lexicon Recentis Latinitatis. It also doesn't make you do any of the work, since there are English translations adjacent. For that reason, if any Latin book can be said to be leisure reading, it's this one.

The Latinitas is variable, my biggest concern. I think it's a useful beginning spoken Latin reference, but I'm not sure how I'd actually use it in teaching...
