Published in 1979, 'D-Day to Berlin' looks at AFV camouflage and markings for the USA, Great Britain and Germany over the course of June 1944 to May 1945. This is a tall order, but the book makes a good stab at the basics of the subject with some brilliant accompanying photos and colour artworks.
My first inkling that German tanks came in any color but grey! Recent research has changed some of the accepted conclusions this author makes, but that's one of the coolest things about history: like scientific theories, it changes as new evidence surfaces.
