While I found this book slightly cheesy and predictable, I also agreed with all of the faith elements. As a born again believer myself, while I understood that the writers were showing others their faith, it was slightly overbearing how they bomb the reader with verse after verse. I myself am a writer and am trying to not bombard people with my faith but rather to present it in love...I guess I was annoyed with the writing style...I myself have slightly cheesy writing but am working on that. I must say that out of the many books I have read, NEVER have I disliked a writing style until now. It was too predictable also. I knew everything that was about to happen it seemed. Most books you have some idea, but not the whole picture. But LATER THAT DAY!
Okay, so I finished the book now. You know, it's funny, as soon as I wrote that the novel was cheesy and predictable, it became less cheesy and not predictable, well, except for Paul showing up...I knew that would happen. But it was a really good story! If you like stuff about mail order brides, a favourite book of mine is "A Bride for Donnigan" by Janette Oke...it's simply amazing!
