They call him The Dollmaker. His victims are painted to look like dolls and are posed in lewd positions for everyone to see.
Two victims and counting.
Detective Veronica Shade doesn’t need her sixth sense to know that the killer has no designs of stopping. His twisted agenda requires more victims, more dolls.
But it’s not her case. And after what happened last time, all eyes are on her, making sure she does everything by the book. Breaking even the smallest rule might mean losing her job.
Or worse.
But with a killer on the loose, and a bear running rampage, how can Veronica just sit by and do nothing?
She can’t.
Once again, she turns to her special gift, her multi-modal synesthesia, to try and help her solve the case. But her condition has proven unreliable in the past, and Veronica soon begins to question whether it is more of a hinderance than a gift.
And going rogue has put her directly in the path of a budding serial killer, who’s dead set on turning Veronica Shade into his next doll.
True story: I used to cut up bodies. No, not for fun, you sickos–for work. After reaching the age of majority and fleeing the clutches of an overprotective mother, I went to university like a good boy.
More than a decade later and an alphabet soup of letters after my name, I found myself looking down the double-chamber of a microscope at an eyeball. Feeling ironically introspective, I decided that it was time for a change.
After seventy plus novels and more than a million copies sold, I’ve found my true calling, one that also includes a plethora of letters. Hopefully you see something in my catalog that you like, something to feast your eyes on.
I also have two spooky podcasts that are appropriate for ALL ages, so long as you like to be scared: P.T. Logan's Five Minutes of Terror and Camp Fear. Both are FREE and available on all podcast platforms. For MATURE audiences, I've created two fiction podcasts, Nightmare Residue and Bad Priest.

This is the 2nd in the series about Detective Veronica Shade. In this one, Veronica is just coming off of a couple months of leave and wants to get back to work with her partner, Freddie. But, they seem to want to assign an easy case to them to make sure she is ready. So she and Freddie have to find out what is going on with 3 separate Jewelry stores robbery s where only watches are taken!
Veronica's boyfriend, Steve is the head of the police department in the small town and he is investigating a murder. A women has been found and, if you know Veronica, she is wanting to get involved in this case even though she shouldn't.
This was a great one and with another surprise ending!! Can't wait to go on to the next.
Great story. I was going back and forth in trying to figure out who had done it. I guessed before we were told but I wasn't 100% sure. I'm still loving the characters but Veronica gets in her own way a lot. Her running off and doing things on her own are not only detrimental to herself but others as well. Crouch the Statie that Steve had worked for in the past was a real piece of work. What the hell is going on with Steve's past???
with each book you become more acquainted with each character.
This book kept me reading all night. I’ve grown to love theses characters. I can’t wait to read the next book. And then the next. That’s rare. I usually get into. About the third book and search for something else. This author has a way of keeping it real.
There are two cases: the watch burglar case with Veronica and the Dollmaker case with the Sheriff Burns even though Veronica insists on sticking her nose into that case as well.
This book series teaches us never to accept a drink from anyone.
Once again the killer’s identity completely shocked me.
What's going on with Veronica and her dad? The sheriff so many secrets, I think I'll need a cheat sheet to keep track of everything. Can't wait for the next book.
Once again Patrick Logan has created a strong character and makes the story all fall in to place. Can’t wait to continue on this journey with Veronica Shade.
I really like Veronica. I love her determination and her inner strength. Her multi-modal synesthesia is her 6th sense. While she is dealing with her trauma from the past and thinks she doesn’t have that ability but she definitely does!
This book kept me guessing who the killer could be and it was totally a twisted story and ending. Patrick does a great job making you think you know who it could be and then you find out you were so wrong!
