Part 3 of the shadowmage trilogy.
You keep reading, hoping to discover some answers. The author does know how to keep you interested, you'll want to keep reading to find out how everything comes together. You feel the story building up to something and you also feel the backflap of that last book coming closer.
Then, an epic battle unfolds.
Where the first two books were a nice read but with the fantasy part a bit lacking, now finally, all that magic that was withheld comes to serve its' finale. You get sucked in, you stop being aware of that backflap. And then...
The End!
In the middle of that epic battle and none of all the questions from this or the previous two books answered...

There is nothing wrong with an open ending in itself, but this is the most frustrating ending I've ever come across in any book...
