This is the middle year of five in succession having the barometrical average above the mean qf t/le compare 1837 in Note. 1828.--The wettest year but one, and of the two compare 1826, also 1834: the July the wettest month in the compare 1827, 1834. Note, also, the gradation from year to year in the mean temperature of summer (first rising and then falling) through the space from 1824 to 1829.
