Their lord drinks blood and they are dead men walking. The tales of the mansion don't stop Nika from falling for one of the guards, but when wolves attack her and he rides to her rescue, she discovers that her knight is anything but saintly. Winter's world is shaken beyond salvation and his allegiance to his bloodline tested as he watches the woman he's fallen for turn into a werewolf. His heart demands vengeance and that he protects her, both from the werewolf now hunting for her and from himself, but she tempts him more than he can bear and it isn't long into their journey before he's torn between upholding the law and succumbing to desire.
Will Nika be able to convince Winter to leave his world and stay with her or will she spend eternity dreaming of Winter's kiss?

What a lovely read! I had never read anything by Felicity Heaton before, but had seen lots of good right ups and a few people had spoken highly of her so I thought I would give her a try, especially as it was so cheap (under £2).
The story is about a vampire warrior (Winter) who falls in love with a young girl but before he gets up the courage to ask his Lord to 'turn' her she is attacked by a group of werewolves and as she is bitten by one of them, begins the transformation into one. Winter is mortified but cannot give up the fight to be with his one true love. It is a really heart wrenching tale of two people so in love but who are fated not to be together because their laws won't allow it. Its a sort of paranormal version of Romeo and Juliet!! Lol! I wont say much more or it will give bits of the story away, except to say that it is a good paced story, with a clear plot, full of action and intrigue and of course romance and sexual tension. A well written book that I would recommend to all paranormal romance fans, and one that has made me want to read more from this author. It made me laugh and cry and when a book can do that it has something special! Go on and give it a go!
I am a huge fan of all of Felicity's books. Winter's Kiss was another epic romance that took a hold of me even after I had finished the book. It amazes me how a being with no beating heart and that is cold to the touch can have such a giant loving "heart" Winter will melt you. This is another installment in the Vampires Realm Series. The entire series is exceptional and will not disappoint you.
A commander of the Validus bloodline Winter stands sentinel to Lord Hyperion. Winter is loyal to his family, but has become attracted to a young woman named Nika. He has watched her grow from a girl to a woman and she has invaded his mind and heart. One night he hears screams, and recognizes Nika's voice. He comes upon her being attacked by werewolves. He saves her life, but is not quick enough to save her from the bite that will make her his enemy. To love Nika is forbidden and would require him to choose between duty, family, and love.
The chemistry between Winter and Nika is lovely and very romantic. I admired Winter's strength which was a compliment to Nika's softness. She had noticed Winter as she was growing up and the attraction was not one sided. Although she only ever saw his eyes, she was able to read into them something that called to her heart. Lord Hyperion is also a fascinating character. He seems to have a bit of a mischievous nature. I look forward to seeing more of him in the future.
Winter's Kiss is a story of forbidden love and passions, but I also found it very romantic. In my opinion, Heaton just continues to improve on the series as she goes along. Once I had this novel in my hands I could not put it down. As I have said before, getting lost in one of Heaton's fantasy worlds is always a pleasure.

Felicity is an amazing author. How she works out the intricate twists and turns of love, conversations, characters, details of the underlying plot that runs through the book, intrigue and lots of action is beyond me. A forbidden love between a Vampire and a newly turned Werewolf will keep you reading from the moment you wake up until it is time to sleep..... Maybe. I have been enthralled with each and every book of hers. I would out her on par with Wilbur Smith with her writing skills. I 100% recommend this book, all her books in fact. Reading her paranormal books is true escapism from the daily grind of life. Go on, be a devil..... Escape!!
Wasn't to sure at first how quick Nika and Winter got together but by the end of this book I was totally involved with their tale .please tell me Lord Hyperion has his own book as the more he pops up in this series the more he intrigues me.
This is the fifth book in the Vampire Realm Romance Series. I loved it!
Winter is a vampire and a member of the Validus bloodline, one of the oldest vampire families. He is the Chosen Son and second in command to Lord Hyperion. I liked this character a lot. He is the ultimate warrior - protective of his bloodline and loyal. When the human he secretly covets is attacked, he is torn between his loyalty to his family and his love for Nika.
Nika is a human, who has grown up in a village near to the Validus castle in Russia. I liked this character. She is rather naive about the world around her, but after an attack that changes her world, she finds herself facing a deadly decision.
This is another fantastic erotic paranormal romance in the series. The world building has gotten better, and the characters more complex and sexy. The story is an exciting roller coaster ride from start to finish. Having already been introduced to a vampire/werewolf couple in the Prophecy Trilogy in the form of Mia and Demitri, it was intriguing to follow Winter and Nika's journey. The story is told from both Winter's and Nika's point of view. I felt for Winter as he dealt with the devastating consequences of the werewolf attack on Nika. Not only is a relationship between a vampire and werewolf frowned on, it is against the Law and is punishable by death. The raw passion that Winter and Nika feel for each other comes across as scorching! The pages just about combust! There are several twists and turns, and I have come to the conclusion that Lord Hyperion is either a rebel, or he has a soft spot for couples in love. Nevertheless, I am beginning to like the Validus leader a lot! It would be interesting to read his story eventually. The end of the story made me very happy and, although this book can be read as a stand alone, I look forward to reading the next book in the series, Hunter's Moon.
Felicity Heaton has written another fantastic paranormal romance. I love her writing style, which is fast paced, exciting and believable. She is number one on my Favourite Authors List.
As this is an erotic paranormal romance with explicit scenes, I do not recommend this book to younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love erotic paranormal romances full of action, adventure, sexy vampires and werewolves. - Lynn Worton
It's kind of a running joke when I watch movies or read books that I'm totally unmoved by things. Like, I'll be watching a movie with my friends and something tragic will happen and my friends will be sobbing quietly as the scene unfolds and I'll be all, "Whoa! Did you see all that blood? It was like a river of blood. I wonder how they get it that red. And the consistency was just right. Did you see it? Hey, why is everyone crying?" Seriously, I'm not a crier. Cry-er. I'm not a person who cries. Yeah, so there aren't a lot of books that will move me to tears. Usually it ends up being something that I'm deeply invested in, like a 20 book series (Dude! That reminds me of the time I was sobbing tearing up over one of the Dark-Hunter books and my son walked in on me, took one look and turned on his heel and walked out. Little brat.), so when I say that this book got me a little weepy, you have to see that as a big endorsement.
I really, really liked the world that was built here. I liked Winter. I liked Nika's perseverance, even if what she was doing wasn't necessarily in either her or Winter's best interests. She was determined and she wasn't going to lie down quietly and let the thing she wanted most in the world to slip away without a fight.
I'm extremely interested in reading other books set in this world and seeing how it unfolds from this little slice of vampires and werewolves in Russia to something much larger.
Winter’s Kiss by F. E. Heaton is about forbidden love between a Vampire and a Werewolf. Winter is a Vampire who has loved Nika from afar for years. When she is attacked and bitten by a werewolf he knows that his dreams of being with her are over. It is against Vampire law for him to be with a Werewolf, the penalty is death. Winter is determined to protect Nika; he just doesn’t know how he’ll be able to walk away from her when he’s done. Nika plans to do everything in her power to stop Winter from walking away from her. Will she succeed? Will these two find a way to be together?
This is an emotional story filled with love and turmoil. It is sad at times and joyful at others. You want them to stay together but you don’t know how that is possible. You ache for them. It keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens next. When a book has the power to move you then you know it’s a good one. This is a great book by a talented author. I would recommend it to any one who enjoys Paranormal Romance.
Winter's Kiss is part of the Vampire Realm series but can be read as a standalone...
Winter is a Vampire who stands guard outside his family's mansion. Nika is the gorgeous girl that Winter watches pass his sentry point every day but never talks to her, regardless of her efforts.
One night on her way home Nika is attacked by what she thinks are wolves and Winter comes to her rescue, unfortunately too late as he realises she is becoming a werewolf.... It is at this point that she discovers the whispers and rumors about those who live in the mansion are true!!
His head tells him one thing, he can never be with her as it's forbidden but his heart tells him something very different!! Can he be with his love or must he give her up to honour & protect his bloodline/family & their secrets.
This is a fantastic book. I love Winter & Nika... He loves her with such passion & strength but has such loyalty to his family!! How will he ever be able to choose?!?
This is another fantastic installment from an excellent series by Felicity and for me is a must read!!!
This takes place after the zombie fight at Dimitri’s castle while he and Mia are away at Prophecy’s Ball.
Winter is one of Lord Hyperion’s Commanders. After Nika, a girl from a local village that he’s wanted for years is attacked and turned into a werewolf, he helps her escape the local werewolf leader Willem, to Dimitri’s people for safety and training in hew new life. They fall in love, but because of the laws forbidding vampire/werewolf relations he has to decide if can bring himself to leave her or stay and be forever in danger.
Nika is very childish and self-centered. Which is odd since she comes from a small village and no mention of a mom is made so she must have had adult responsibilities.
Quick Thoughts: 1) I have no idea why/how Mikael is in charge. He’s too volatile and senseless to hold a position of responsibility. Unless he was the best that was left after the zombie attack.
Fave Scenes: 1) finding her father, the stable, the balcony incident and dodging the arrows.
Winters Kiss is a story about forbidden love between a Vampire and a Werewolf.
Winter is a Warrior Vampire who is in love and has been for quite a few years with a young girl called Nika, she also has strong feelings for Winter and passes him nearly everyday as her performs his duty as a Sentry Guard for his Lord and Master, Nika passes Winter on her way home one day when she is attacked by a werewolf who bites her and then her life is turned upside down.
A truely lovely romantic story along with action, passion & plenty of Hot, Hot Loving.
Felicity Heaton does it again with this book. She built a character, Winter, that I instantly fell in love with. Very strict Winter had been watching Nika grow into a beautiful, strong and willful young woman. He knew that she liked him. However, he waited to ask his vivacious master, Hyperion, for permission to choose her for a mate. Winter and Nika struggle adversity and become lovers. Neverheless, the twists and turns ends up making Nika and Winter fall in love but will they ever overcome all the obstacles in which the Gods have given them.
I'm a big fan of Ms Heaton's book and this one definitely ranks up there as one of my favourites of hers. It brings a whole new slant on the star crossed lovers idea and is written really well. Winter and Nika are both great, likeable characters and the storyline moves along at a good pace with lots of action and emotion. I really enjoyed this story and finished it in one sitting. Definitely a keeper. Highly recommended ;0)
A little different from the other Vampire Realms books, but still a very good book. I guess I really want to read more about Prophecy and Valentine :D However, it was neat to read more about Hyperion's family, and how difficult it is in the vampire realm to love someone not from your own bloodline... let alone someone not from the same species.
What a great book!!! A story so amazingly sweet that I finished it in one day ... I couldn't put it down! This book is not only going in my list of favorites but also in my list of books worth reading more than once. Winter's Kiss is definitely in the read again and again and again category.
I love this story line. I think where it started and where it is going is interesting. I love that it has picked up some of the tidbits from the main trilogy. It does sadden me that these individual books do not have more after the final chapters. I know I would love to know more about Winter and Nika.
Felicity Heaton/Anastasia Dawson is an amazing author. I have read more than 50 of her books and have loved them all. Her books include, Vampires, Succubus, witches, angels, shape-shifters, human hunters, dragons, demons, clones, and much more. I hope you enjoy her stories as much as I do.
I thoroughly enjoy all the Vampires Realm books. This latest one didn't disappoint, it had the usual exciting plot that keeps you riveted, the characters that you feel for, and of course there's the passion, and the fight between good and evil.
I really loved this book. I was particularly pleased it featured Hyperion and his family. I really like how Winter struggles against what he wants and must do and really pleased he chose the right route. loved how things work out in the end. Good job.
