I can't say that I have enjoyed it so far. Not exactly what I was looking for after my father's unexpected death. Anyway, some phrases are good and contain deep wisdom and have a soothing effect. It does not provide any psychological support or any advice on how to go through the grieving process. It is more like a collection of some supportive phrases.

This is a wonderful little book. One of the best for me because the book itself is not large and overwhelming, and each page contains a single quote, or paragraph. I can consume it in small quantities at a time.

This is a book for grieving the loss of a loved one, including yourself. Death comes in many forms. Some pages are fairly specific, but many can be applied to many different situations.

I highly recommend it.

Fumia's experience after the death of her partner, goes through, piece by piece, the volatile and erratic emotions of loss. Poetic, dark, raw, angry, sad, brutal reality from the simple day to day things like clutching to lingering scent on clothing, the empty chair, missing place setting, or adding ritual no longer needed. It addresses other issues that pile up as one is simply unable to keep pace with the rest of the world, down to the battered scarring of the house itself.

Everybody grieves differently. This book is not for light-weights. It owns the debility, shrieks at it, shakes it, stomps on it and eventually comes to terms in it's own fashion, which may not be for everyone. I don't believe we ever recover, we merely assimilate a new reality.

A gift from a friend and a book I can recommend to anyone facing the loss of a loved one.
You can read it from beginning to end or you can just open to any page. I recommend the former way if it's a recent loss as it will guide you gently through all the stages of grief and even anger.
A thoughtful and extremely supportive little book.

I found some of the chapters to be soothing to my grieving soul but overall I was disappointed.

Keep this book close by if you or someone you love has lost a loved one. It is a strange thing to say how it comforts you that you're not alone with grief, but it is true. Oh, how we all grieve...
