“Do you think I didn’t know what would happen when I jumped into the stones? That I didn’t know I might never see my life as it was before again. I knew exactly what I was doing, Myra, and I did it anyway.” He took a step back. “I chose to do it anyway.” Her hands covered her arms in a struggle to keep warm. “Why?” “Because of you, dammit! I couldn’t stop thinking about you.”

I am lovin the hell outta this series. The first book Binding Vows was so good I really didn't think that the second book would come close to being as good as the first, but I was wrong. Silent Vows is funny, action packed, and romantic.

“I’ve learned from my years on the force that life is often stranger than fiction. I haven’t pushed you for the answers I know you have, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want them.”

“No one has ever kissed me the way you do. Let alone anything more.”

What this book is about

Myra MacCoinnich is a druid virgin living in the 16th Century. Myra's brothers Duncan and Fin went into the future a few months ago to stop the evil witch Grianna from getting her hands on a druid virgin, which she needs to break her curse. When they come back from the future they bring the druid virgin that Grianna was after with them. Tara McAllister Who is now married to Myra's brother Duncan. Grianna unbeknownst to the others has come back to the 16 century with Duncan, Fin, and Tara, and is now after Myra. Myra's Mother Lora has had a dream warning her that Myra will die if she doesn't go into the future, to Tara's time. So the family sends Myra to Tara's time to search out Tara's sister Lizzy to stay with her until the danger is over and it's safe to return home. Instead Myra meets Officer Todd Blakely, who knows Myra is lying and hiding something, but helps her anyways, because he feels protective of her. Will Myra be able to find Lizzy and keep safe in the future?

“I’m not a knight.” “That is where you are wrong. You may not have those titles in this time. But your actions are those of a knight. You’ve dedicated your life to righting people’s wrongs. You uphold the laws of your land. Your chivalry would not go unnoticed in my time."

 photo todd1_zpsxcg4f9du.gif

“When you touch me, I feel alive,” she confessed. “This burning inside me is only sated when you touch me. I want this. I want you.”

I liked Todd. He is a little bit cynical and a bit jaded. When his dad was killed in the line of duty and his mom died a few months later of a broken heart Todd decided he would never marry and take a chance of putting his wife through what his mom suffered. So he keeps people at arm's length. I love that even though he tries not to get close to her, Myra breaks through his walls. I loved Myra. She was very sweet, innocent, and a little naive. I loved reading about her child like joy of discovering new things when she was in the future. I thought it was so sweet when Todd was taking her around showing her new things especially when he took her to look at the neighborhood Christmas lights. Myra not knowing or understand how things worked in the future lead to some hilarious moments like when Todd called home to check on her. She could hear him talking on the answering machine telling her to pick up, and she was talking in the air like he could hear her . Todd and Myra are a adorable couple. I loved the sister bonding that happens in this book. Ian and lora Myra's parents are awesome! I loved the parts with Fin and Simon. I don't know how I feel about Fin and Liz. I know their book is next and I am a little worried, seeing as Fin pissed me off in this book by kissing Liz then trying to get Todd to go into town with him to find women to sleep with to get their minds off Liz and Myra. They don't go but just the fact that Fin wanted to use another woman to get his mind off Liz after he kissed her pissed me off so bad. I don't know how I will feel about them as a couple. Just sayin. I am loving this series so far and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys romances.

“The bruise on your eye, how did you come by it?” He had almost forgotten about Fin’s fist greeting him that very morning. It seemed so long ago. “Fin.” Ian’s lips curved slightly. “Would you like to blacken the other?” “To serve what purpose?” “Oh, I don’t know make you feel better?” Ian grunted, drank his Scotch. “It might be difficult for you to hit a target with that gun of yours if your vision is blurry.” “Later, then?” Ian laughed. “Maybe.”

 photo todd2_zpsxjnz62zk.jpg

Below I leave my favorite moment from the book:

“I’m going to marry your daughter.” Myra’s eyes grew big as saucers. A muscle ticked in her father’s jaw. “Are you asking, lad?” Oh, God. Todd turned to her, smiled. “Marry me.” A short laugh burst out. “He wants you to ask him,” she explained. “I don’t want to marry him. I want to marry you.” But he was joking. His hand moved around her waist and pulled her close. “Marry me, Myra. Give me a reason to come home every night.”

OK, we all know I don't read too many straight romances, but for certain authors, I make exceptions. Ms. Bybee is one of them.

This is the second installment for the MacCoinnich clan (Binding Vows was first) and I found I enjoyed this one more, both in the complexity of plot and the depth of the characters.

Part of the fun of Time Travel romances is seeing how characters deal with the unexpected differences of another time period. With the Ren Faire setting in the first book, all the culture shock fell on our 20th century heroine. In Silent Vows, both main characters have the chance to experience the time displacement fully. And I do like these characters.

Myra, the sheltered daughter of a powerful family, has never had to stand on her own. She's no kick-ass, in your face heroine, but she is admirable because of this - the courage she shows trying to navigate a new and hostile world she is woefully unprepared to face. I don't usually like the whole damsel in distress thing, but she tries, with every bit of her own resourcefulness, to take care of herself rather than standing around wringing her hands. That she ends up needing a little help is just a matter of inexperience and bad choices.

Todd, cynical and suspicious of anyone's motives, is the perfect hero for the situation. He's relentless in his pursuit of the truth and too smart to accept Myra's evasions. Handsome and honorable, his fear of commitment has kept him single but it's a fear born of good intentions rather than selfishness or immaturity. The reasons for his hard shell and the distance he keeps relationship wise are poignant and understandable. A wounded, lonely soul, you can't help feel for this modern day knight in shining.

There's a real sense of danger and suspense to the story, a well-crafted, well-paced plot that keeps you turning pages, enough sexual tension to set your desk or e-reader smoking, wonderful secondary characters and Ms. Bybee's wry sense of humor underpinning it all.

I adore the narrator's voice. He does such a great job with the different characters and accents. Five stars for the narration.

The story is pretty good. This is a continuation from book 1 and I liked it even more. It's a mix of Historical and PNR romance with the focus on Time Travel.

If that's your jam, give it a shot. The series is on Audible Escape and I DO recommend the audiobooks.

Still very good!

Original Review December 15, 2013

Wow, better than the first. Todd and Lizzy are another well matched pair. The time travel is a character itself. The way the characters react to the differences in the time periods is realistic. There is more romance and much more danger. Also, a lot of set up for Fin and Lizzy' s story. I'm loving it! On to Redeeming Vows. Happy reading!

I'm enjoying this series so much that the minute I finished Silent Vows I started the third book in the series, Redeeming Vows. Time travel romance is loads of fun when the author doesn't get too fixated on the method, and Ms. Bybee didn't.

There was something appropriate (and wickedly fun) about part of the premise in this book. In the first book in the series, Binding Vows, Tara and Duncan meet because Duncan and his brother Fin have regularly been visiting the 21st century to relieve Druid virgins of their pesky virginity.

Now that the evil witch Grainna has returned to the 16th century the MacCoinneach family has a problem. The oldest daughter, Myra, is still a virgin (much more common in the 16th century) and is now a target for the witch's spell. The solution is to send her to the 21st century to get her out of harm's way.

It's understood that if she has to, as a last resort she can get herself de-virginated. Only as a last resort, of course.

Myra was supposed to find Tara's sister Lizzy, along with Lizzy's son Simon, and reassure them that Tara was alive, well and happy. Also go on one ginormous 21st century shopping trip and bring back oodles of stuff that Tara wanted. Like aspirin and antibiotics. Also coffee.

Instead, Myra got picked up by the cops in the middle of let's call it Disneyland. And discovered that even with Tara's crash course in 21st century everything, she really wasn't prepared for life in Tara's California.

The cop who picked her up at Disneyland knew she was lying about very nearly everything, but he still couldn't get her out of his head. Especially after he rescued her from nearly being raped because she had no clue that she shouldn't be out and about in Los Angeles at midnight.

Officer Todd Blakely took her home. To his home. Because she had nowhere else to go. And because she was beautiful and he wanted to rescue her, even though he knew he couldn't believe anything she said.

Until Lizzy came to talk to the woman who had information about her sister, and everything got crazier. And more sane at the same time.

Myra called him Sir Blakely. When she went back home, she didn't need to worry about being a target for the evil witch anymore. Too bad for Todd that he didn't really believe everything she said until he saw her travel back in time, taking his heart with her.

Escape Rating A-: I'm so glad these are all available now, I'd hate to be stuck in the middle wondering how the rest of this series goes!

Myra does give Todd a lot to believe, and while he doesn't believe her story, he is pretty accepting of her in general. It's kind of astonishing that he doesn't send her for a psych evaluation!

Todd's and Myra's story does drag on just a bit once the venue switches to the 16th century. We know how they are going to end up, and by that point, I wanted the focus to shift to Lizzy and Fin.

This series is just plain fun, and I can't wait to see how it ends!

This is the second book in a time travel romance trilogy. I read this one right after I finished the first, without a break.

I liked the 2nd even better than the first. Here the story is about Myra, who is the sister of the hero in the first book and she is from the past, from Scotland. She has to go to present time for protection from a dark druid woman who needs a druid virgin to break the spell that was put on her.

Myra meets up with cop Todd, who of course is very suspicious of her. She has nothing but the name of the sister of the first books heroine Tara. Tara in present times of course disappeared and so Todd has to question everything.

I really like this scenario where for once we get a little insight into the after math of one of those time travels. We often have the heroine just leaving present day and going to the past, but we usually don't ever see the after effects to those left behind in present day and the investigation. We get a bit of that here since Todd is a cop.

Of course there is more time traveling to do and Todd also has to deal at some point with being in the past. I don't want to say to much about the plot, but he held his own among the honorable Scotsman.

There is a lot of stuff happening in this one and it was so nice to really get to know the whole family in Scotland much better here. We also see how the women are finding their druid gifts more and more and helping to fight along the men against the evil druid woman.

I will read the 3rd very soon as again, the arc is still going by the end of the 2nd. This is shaping up to be a really entertaining time travel romance series.

I didn't think that the first book could be topped but I was wrong. I love the book and it is worth 6 stars

Myra is sent into the future because she is in danger in 16th Century Scotland because Grianna is back (the wicked witch)
Myra is supposed to go to Lizzy (Tara's sister) but has a run in with Todd Blakely and decides to leave the hospital with nowhere to go apart from Shelters she chooses the wrong shelter but Sir Todd Blakely saves her.

Myra, Lizzy and Simon return to the past with all the required items but leaving Todd behind. They are both miserably but then there are changes which are happening. Fin brings Lizzy and Simon back. Simon is kidnapped and all of them go back to the past once again. The travelling stones are split up between the Clan and Grianna.

This book is full of magic and such a wonderful read. I fell in love with all the characters. I just wished that Todd had some Druid ability.

I'm not too sure about Liz and Fin (but I'm sure that it will work out in the next book)

Summary: Myra MacCoinnich is in grave danger. Unbeknownst to Myra’s clan, Grainna was finally able to return to her past life; albeit without her powers in tact. She still must obtain the virgin blood of a Druid in order to regain her full strength, and Myra fits the description. Myra’s mother has seen a vision of the future in which Myra is killed if she remains in this time, thereby prompting the clan to send Myra to Tara’s time in order to save her life.

Tara does her best to prepare Myra for the 21st century, including providing her with the name and contact information for her sister and nephew, Lizzie and Simon. But when Myra arrives in California, Lizzie and Simon are out of town. Faking amnesia, she spends a few days in a hospital. During her time there, she is interviewed by a sharp young detective, named Todd, who does not believe a word of her story.

Despite his disbelief, Todd is drawn to help Myra, and she eventually comes to stay at his home. Even though he struggles with her dishonesty, Todd and Myra eventually fall in love. Unfortunately, their relationship seems to be doomed because he has no intention of following her home to her time. But after Myra leaves, Todd knows that he made a mistake. His life will never be complete without her.

Todd, Lizzie, and Simon all wind up back in the sixteenth century after Grainna attempts to kidnap Simon. Once Todd arrives in Myra’s time, he finally identifies the truth in all she has told him. Is it too late for Myra and Todd to be together? Will he return to his time when the opportunity arises? And furthermore, will any of the MacCoinnich clan survive Grainna? Only time will tell.

Review: This book had the same intense emotional connection with the characters that was present in the first book in the series. Myra and Todd’s relationship is interesting and unique, and I really loved seeing it develop. Myra had been considered an old maid in her time, having never found a man who interested her, so it seemed predestined that her match would come into her life in such an unusual way. The story fit her character really well.

I really enjoyed Todd’s character also. However, it was a little disappointing to me that he did not have any Druid (or even Scottish) blood. I felt like there should have been a higher purpose to Todd’s connection with Myra, beyond just an attraction. All of these people have been chosen by the Ancients to ultimately destroy Grainna’s power, and it is difficult to see how or why Todd is part of the mix. Regardless, his personality seems to fit in with the rest of the family.

As far as the threat from Grainna, that part of the story is truly elevated in this book. Grainna has not only found a way back to her time, she has also found a loophole in her curse and is able to gain some of her youth back. Her presence in the sixteenth century brings a whole new level of threat to the family – especially after she kidnaps a pregnant Tara away from the keep in order to lure Duncan to his doom. Speaking of this incident, I really liked that the author involved the entire MacCoinnich clan in the book, rather than only the primary love interest. That was definitely a positive.

I recommend this series to fans of Highlander novels and Historical fantasy fiction. With that said, this book felt a lot less like a Highlander book than the first book in the series. This one definitely takes on more of a necromancy/witch feel to it. It will be interesting to see how this manifests in the final book in the trilogy.

ANOTHER GREAT STORY IN THE MACONNICK TIME TRAVEL SERIES!!

I am so hooked on the MacCoinnich Time Travel series. I stayed up all night again reading book 2 Silent Vows. The loss of sleep was worth it

Silent Vows starts right at the end of Binding Vows. Myra MacConnick has been warned by her mother Lora to flee and go into the future, where her sister in law Tara McAllistier is from. The Druid Witch Grianna is now after Myra to kill for her Virgin Druid Blood. Tara prepares Myra as best she can for the 21st century. Myra family builds the stone circle and sends Myra into the future.

Detective Todd Blakely must interview the newest Joan Doe who claims to have lost her memory. Todd thinks she is just another fake trying to milk the system. But there seems to be more to Myra/Jane Doe 33 then meets the eye. When Myra leaves the hospital and is attacked by thugs Todd arrives just in time to save her. He takes Myra to live with him and here begins the romantic, hot, sexy romance. Eventually Myra trust Todd with her story which is unbelievable. So, she shows Todd some of her Druid power. Myra has a letter she must deliver to Tara's sister Elizabeth McAllister know as Lizzy and her nephew Simone. At first Lizzy doesn't believe where her sister is but knows the handwriting is indeed her sisters. Once Myra thinks she is no longer in danger she Lizzy and Simone return to the 16th century 1576. Todd get a report about Grianna know as Gwen Adams is in the hospital. After an interview with her Todd knows that the danger has not passed for the MacConnicks. Fin, Myra's brother shows up at Todd's front door and punches him in the face. Todd immediately knows why and who this strange looking Scot is. As danger approaches Fin and Todd travel back in time to warn his family of Grianna intentions and revenge.

Giranna is the perfect evil villain. The story is well thought out and very fast paced. One of the reasons being to start this book when you have time to stay up all night. The conversations between the characters are believable, richly written. This is a really good story!! I Highly Recommend Silent Vows and Binding Vows. I am off to start reading Redeeming Vows Bk3. Another all nighter!!

It is seldom you will see me gush in a review, especially historical romance. Well, let the gushing begin! "Silent Vows" earns an unequivocal five stars because it is just that much fun to read!

The story is the second in a series and starts with the heroine, Myra, time traveling from medieval Scotland to present day L.A. escaping an evil that wants to destroy both her and her family. It incorporates contemporary and historical romance then adds suspense, with a touch of fantasy, flawlessly. Even the sex scenes didn't put me off, I skipped them, not because I was offended but because they just slowed me down, I was so anxious to see what happened next! The plot is believable, the characters deftly written, the nuances of both times perfectly on point and the suspense is page-turning. What more could one ask?

It is a light, fun, absorbing read that disappoints only because it ends. My one caution would be not to pick it up without an afternoon to finish, the result would be extreme frustration!

I didn't think it was possible, but I enjoyed this second installment of the MacCoinnich Time Travel Trilogy even more than the first book (and I loved the first book, "Binding Vows"). Myra's (our heroine) reactions to being thrust into the 21st Century from her 16th Century time period were priceless. I loved her character. She was enchanting, yet strong and wise for her age. Todd (our hero), the modern day police officer, was tough, yet gentle with Myra. He was a skeptic, yet willing to listen and try to understand. Todd had hidden depths that were beautifully developed within the storyline. The storyline itself was further developed and expanded brilliantly as well. If you love time travel romances, along with having a yen for Highlanders, I highly recommend this very entertaining series. I'm moving onto the third book in the series "Redeeming Vows." I can't wait to see what transpires!

I can't believe it took me so long to find this series. It's one of the best I've read in the genre. I'd be bingeing it to finish quicker but I'm enjoying the narration to much to give it up. I'd go on to the next book, but at some point I do actually need to sleep so it will have to wait a day.

My biggest issue is the way Finley is behaving in the novel. I'm not sure I really like his character. He definitely has his moments but so far he's had a lot more bad ones than good. Liz is definitely touchy, but a lot of times I get her point so much more than his. If some guy came in and started managing how I raise my kid without my permission I'd flip my frigging lid too. Actually who am I kidding, I regularly flip my lid on anyone who attempts to tell me how to parent. It's one of my top pet peeves, and that might be an understatement description of how I feel about it. I also didn't care for the part where the 17 year old gets to order them around because they're women. I get its authentic to the time period, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I can see him standing up for his friend, but the way it was done just crossed a feminist line for me.

That said I wouldn't give a four star rating if I didn't love this book, I'm pretty stingy with stars when I rate. I have to have absolutely no small thing to complain about to give a perfect rating. What I love is this is a romance and yet not a romance. It's really more of a saga and that becomes so much more clear with the second book. The focus characters are Myra and Todd (I listened to the book so if I spell a name wrong that's why.) Yes, but so many other characters have large scenes and large roles in the book. We aren't just in their points of view, we're in the head of so many characters that all of the cast feel like friends. There's so much more going on here than just a romance and the epic fantasy driving this series takes a much larger role in this book than it did the last.

I would have liked to see Todd and Myra have the same sort of druid vows and connections as Duncan and Tara and would have loved a couple more scenes from the view points of the first couple, but overall this story was awesome.

Like before there are two parts, past and future which are vastly different and richly imagined. The pacing is a lot faster in this book than the first but I think that's partially because the conflict has escalated here. It was definitely a page turner that I'd recommend.

this series is one that I read quite a few years back and have been meaning to return to for quite some time. I love everything about it. Catherine Bybee always writes a beautiful romance with plenty of action. With these stories, yes, we are taken back in time to a period vastly different from today but the contemporary lifestyle is also interwoven and somewhat enthusiastically and somewhat reluctantly accepted by the Maccoinnichs to provide a strange and accepting backdrop to their lives. Thrilling reading and the audio versions are brilliant.

This is a great story. All of them. This continuation of Book One blends seamlessly with its predecessor and (FYI-am now reading Book Three) its sequel. You gotta love how all the characters, both past and present, mesh beautifully together, and often humorously. Bybee did an excellent job of creating compelling stand-alone books that immerse you into her story to the point you have to get the next one.

This book was terrific. I liked it much more than the first book. Myra and Todd’s story takes place in the present at first. Then moves on to the past.
Myra goes to the future to escape evil witch Gwen! This puts her into the path of police officer Todd Blakely! Together they reach Tara’s sister Lizzie who she hopes will help her. Lizzie and her son Simon meet Myra and learn Tara is in the past. Finally retuned to the past. Without Todd. No spoilers. Just read the book!

This was a free listen on Audible & I enjoyed it ish.

I thought David Monteath, the audiobook narrator, did a great job with the male voices (duh) and the female Scottish voices (Myra & her sister, Amber, & their mother)... but the female American voices...ouch. Tara was tolerably terrible listening (not sure if I can go back to listen to Binding Vows, but Lizzy was actually dreadful and shrewish and there is no way in hell I'd listen to Redeeming Vows (also aggressively angry lovers isn't my thing).

I liked the plot of this book more than I liked the book in actuality.
Character-wise, Todd was noble sure (he's a selfless do-gooder), but he's also kinda demanding and was a little bit of a chauvinist at times.
Like their kiss in his kitchen. He kissed Myra. And then says "That shouldn't have happened. You drive me to things I wouldn't otherwise do. Crazy things."
AND SHE APPOLIOGIZES TO HIM(??!) and says she's sorry, and HE SAYS "No you're not." BLECH!!!

BUT... he doesn't press her or kiss her or do anything after that when he finds out she's a virgin. So, there is that balance after blaming her for something he did...

BUT... then later on in the book, he goes from angry with Myra to kissing her with no verbal explanation to her, so I guess we're back to me being undecided about him.

Writing-wise, the scene jumps are hella choppy and there is a whole family of characters in this book (with the annoyingly voiced Tara & and angry sexy Finn). I did like the setting/time travel & witchery though.

2.5 stars overall.

This was evcen better than the first part in this trilogy.

Freaking Loved It!!!

I just could not put this down read this in one day that enthralling.

Myra is a powerful Druid Virgin and in order to stay alive and keep away from the Evil witch Grianna so as not to add to her evergrowing power, she is sent to the future to be safe.

Myra is a wonderful character, she is funny, innocent, feisty and has a beautiful soul.
Todd is a cop and he is stubborn and suspicious and enraptured by Myra's beauty and I doubt that accent doesnt hurt either.

Their love grows quickly and believably.

This trilogy is amazing different from many time travelling historicals in the facts that it doent feel like a historical it feels contemporary just in a different place rather than different time.

The Druids powers are growing more intersting in this installment with the addition of Tara's sister and nephew who bring a whole new aspect of magic.

I loved that Tara got to see her sister and explain everything and that so far she is staying in the picture hopefully longer as Lizzy is the star in the next installment which Im really looking forward to because of one name "FIN" yes you know what Im talking about.

I love how bold Myra became towards the middle of the book to the end her experiences in the future made her a more interesting and strong character.
Usually the male lead holds the candle for my attention but I felt Myra really knocked Todd out of the running in this category, although he was a great character Myra seemed to dominate the scenes.

Ian is absolutely hilarious in this book and I love that the whole family is involved in the series one way or another.

Really looking forward to the last of the trilogy and to see Grianna get her just desserts.

You can find my entire review at Forever Book Lover.

Here is another wonderful book in the MacCoinnich Time Travel Trilogy, this time Myra is spotlighted. In the last book, we were left with a cliffhanger... Myra travels back in time to hide from the evil witch, Grainna. Myra is given instructions from her new sister in law Tara on how to act when she arrives. She has some explaining to do as she literally lands in the middle of a locked amusement park, but Myra claims amnesia. Officer Todd Blakely knows there is more to the story and plans to keep near Myra. Danger and intrigue follow the pair. When faced with the truth Todd is skeptical of the time traveling Myra.

Myra tracks down Lizzie, Tara's sister from the first book "Binding Vows". Lizzie helps Myra travel back to her awaiting family. When the time comes for Myra to return, she takes with her Lizzie, Simon (Lizzie's son) along with Todd. The romance for Todd and Myra simmers in the present time and ignites in the past. Catherine Bybee did a great job building up the intense fire between the two characters and wrote some sizzling love scenes. This book is a page turner and like the other books in the series, I hardly put it down.

Have I told you I just LOVE this series!!! If you love time travel, steamy romance, a bit of paranormal, and my beloved Highlanders, it is a must read!! Be sure to read them in correct order, while I read Highland Shifter first before this trilogy, this series would be best read in the order!

Once again Catherine Bybee left you wanting more.....the next book and final book in the trilogy is Redeeming Vows. I actually have it waiting on my Kindle to begin reading...

I am enjoying the second book in this series. I would agree with others that as this series goes on it continues to get better and grow. Now, with that said, I am worried about the next book in the series being about Lizzy, Tara's sister. In this book she irritates the heck out of me. I am hoping that in the third book she is more tolerable as one of the other reader's said. I can understand some of her disbelief. I can understand her independence as she has come from the future and has been raising her son on her own. But, after a while you would accept more things and be more open to things and her constant disbelief and argumentive attitude gets very, very tiresome. She even has attitude towards Tara in a way. This would be the sister who stuck by her through it all - just not something I would do or an attitude I would have, so it doesn't work for me. So, I'm glad the rest of the characters and story are making up for that otherwise I couldn't be sure if I'd continue to read or like the series.

Finished the book and overall really enjoyed it. On to book three featuring Liz...

Oh My Goodness!! I can't believe how much I'm loving this series!!

Firstly I am going to recommend that you read these in order. Although each book is about a different couple the story has a continuous plot line.

This is written in third person, and although you get mostly the hero (Todd) and heroine's (Myra) point of view you do get the point of view of several other characters as well. I have to say this is not my favorite writing style, that said the story is so well-written and so captivating that I hardly noticed the change in POV.

This book has everything I look for in a favorite romance, it's funny, steamy, sweet, suspenseful, intriguing, and a tear jerker!!

I loved Todd & Myra, they were so good together, and bonus... No misunderstandings and minimal drama!!

I also continue to love the supporting characters and I can't wait to read their stories!!

This book takes place equally in the present and in the 16th century highlands. I am thoroughly enjoying the touch of time travel and magic, it's brilliant!!

Clare’s Review

When Todd is assigned yet another Jane Doe case, he doesn’t expect to find Myra, who is so obviously lying about her amnesia. Let alone want to believe the fanciful tale she tells him in bits and pieces.

Silent Vows is face paced and unputdownable. Told from several points of view, it adds rather than distracts from the tension. Myra’s experience of the 21st Century is wonderfully written, right down to never have experienced TV or burgers or hot showers. Filled with action—sword fights, gun fights, protective fathers and brothers, as well as a hero and heroine who literally sacrifice the world for each other, this gripping love story proves that not even time can keep soul mates apart.

A sequel to Binding Vows, but easily read and understandable if you’ve not read the first one, the book ends on a cliff hanger, literally leaving you wanting more. Definitely one to read.

Love this series!!
The way Bybee describes the powers used makes you feel like you are right there watching. I absolutely love every single character.
Even Grainna is amazing in the way she is portrayed.
The romance is wonderful and I love that there is nothing ridiculous that keeps the hero and heroine apart.
This book was done so well. I really enjoyed how we got into the minds of characters that wouldn't be completely focused on until later. The character development is done so well and I love the way Bybee writes.
The story moves quickly and you can't help but to just keep reading to find out what happens. I really love Myra and Todd was seriously perfect for her. I can't wait to read about Fin and Liz.
This is honestly my new favorite time travel romance series/highlander series. I'm usually not into the magic stuff but this is the exception.
I love your work, Catherine Bybee.

To read more reviews and fun things go to my blog; Drugs Called Books!

This has been a great read.
Sadly, I did not know this was a series and only realized it was after beginning to read (which, of course, meant I couldn't just stop and wait who knows how long to find the first book) so I read this without the knowledge of what happened before. I gathered the gist of it, from what they said.
Yet, I still enjoyed this immensely. True, I had details missing, but this was a lovely read nonetheless. They were so cute together <3 I was grinning to myself half the time.
I want to read the next one, but that's probably going to take some time.

I'd read two of this series before reading 'Silent Vows'. I think I'm hooked! These books manage to take me away from the stress of my life and into the book where nothing else exists. I want to be part of the amazing MacCoinnich family. Can Cian fall in love with me when the time comes please?

After having read two books where people went back in time it was interesting to see the turn around of one of the lovers having to go forward. I think it would be a very different thing to cope with time travel to the future as we have no concept of what the future would be like. I think Myra coped extremely well with it. I also enjoyed seeing a Druid fall for a non-magical person.

Thank you Catherine. I'm off to read the next one!

Silent Vows is the follow up to Binding Vows. I feel the story improves even further with Myra and Todd. I liked how their relationship developed. There are lot of things happening in this story and it was nice to really get to know the whole family more. We also see how the women are finding their druid gifts more and more and then there is still plenty of action, romance and danger so I wasn't disappointed. Will be reading Lizzy and Fin story in Redeeming Vows, to see how everything turns out.

I just finished this book! This one leaves you in suspense, so be sure you have the third ready to read.

Love, Love, LOVE this series!!! It is the best I have read in a long time! I can name several authors I love, but Bybee is right at the top of the list! This book has it all! Action, romance, time travel, and suspense, not necessarily in that order.

Be sure to read them in order, while it might not be necessary for some books, this series would be best read in the correct order!
