H.A. Maxwell Whyte (1908–1988) embarked on a journey in ministry that was fraught with uncertainty and an absence of familiar landmarks when he was sovereignly led by the Holy Spirit into an understanding of demonic activity and spiritual warfare. As is so often the case with pioneers, he was misunderstood, ridiculed, and ostracized by the Christian community, even in his own city of Toronto. Despite great opposition, he forged ahead in the battle against the forces of Satan, convinced that the ministry of deliverance was scripturally based and was being restored to the church. Later, he began to record his experiences, and over the next two–and–a–half decades, he authored eighteen books. His first book, The Power of the Blood, has been translated into several languages and is widely distributed throughout the world, selling over 500,000 copies internationally.
Thought this book had some good points, but overall i am deeply dissapointed and I strongly dissagree with his ideas. This book is not a book I would want other people to read hehehe really not strong with the points that are brought up, and many strong statments are brought up without any Biblical refernces while the author sees it as an absolut truth and nothing less. The book is 90 pages or so and can be read in 1 day. Learned from this book that i need to be more carful what books i pick, so i dont end up reading bad books like this one
This is an incredible book detailing the life that has been offered to us by the shedding of the blood by Jesus on the cross and the application of pleading the blood over areas in our lives. It also shows how the Christian church has changed over time to gloss over the power in the blood to focus on the power of the Holy Spirit. The author concludes that this could be because of the confronting nature of blood.
Note the author is H.A. Whyte not Andrew Murray as per the front cover illustration on Goodreads.
This is an excellent teaching on the Blood of Christ. It's well written and easy to grasp. It's filled with revelation and practical application. It's a must read for the body of Christ.
I highly recommend this book to those who are wanting a deeper relationship with the Lord.
many people just take the grape juice or the wine and say well I had the blood of Christ.

I recommend this book to all believers those who are mature Christians whether teenager or adult. please read this book and remember the power of the Blood of Christ.
Weird early Pentecostal doctrine. The author bases all of his arguments off of a literal biological interpretation of about three Bible verses taken out of context. The author also makes several random and strange assertions (like all physical wounds and the germs that accompany them are from Satan) without offering any scriptural support. The author also relies heavily on anecdotal evidence to support broad and authoritative theological statements.
Not convinced by the arguments the author makes. I only read this because a family member asked me to
The challenge with this book is not that we shouldn’t be pleading the blood, but the underlying prosperity gospel that subtly (and at times not so subtly) is shared by this book hidden in the framework of pleading the blood. Our hope is definitely in Jesus, and we should be proclaiming our hope in him whilst praying for him to move in our situations, but just because we plead the blood does not mean that everything is going to be perfect for us.
I'm reminded when I was a little girl at my church how the saints would plead the blood of Jesus in church and we saw how the power of God moved and now we don't do that anymore the blood give me strength and keep me . this is a great book to read and remind us of the what Jesus did on the cross.
Maxwell Whyte makes a strong case, with scriptural backing and lived experience, for the great power in the Blood of Jesus. This is power that we need in our lives and in the Church. Yeshua’s Blood that saves and covers over a Believer’s Sin retains its power to heal our bodies, protect us and overcome the enemy of our souls. And who this believer be but a Sinner who has put their faith solely in the finished work of Christ on Calvary’s Cross as adequate to change their eternal destiny. Hallelujah!
Written in 1973 and revised in 2005 this classic book has much material that is critical for this hour. The blood of Jesus is powerful and this author is clear about why. The last two chapters were stirring and stoking for a return of His presence and His Spirit in all fullness to our churches and communities.
I was recommended this book during the time of the pandemic. An interesting and confronting read for how believers in Jesus can misinterpret the meaning behind Jesus’s death and how powerful a prayer is.
This book explains using the power of the blood of Jesus. Many amazing examples of this power are given. I was skeptical at first, but after God healed our son with this power, I’m now a believer. Excellent book!
Read it in one afternoon - shared with friends in my prayer group. Simple, easy to understand language and instructions that empower the reader to immediately apply the power of the spoken Word, released in truth, to the believer's lifestyle of faith. Highly recommend!
Powerful revelation concerning the blood of Jesus! Help us to apply this,Holy Spirit. Thankful for this small book which contains a huge revelation of truth.
