Small Bird

Rate this book
Poetry. Writing from her own passionately feminist perspective with a vision of truth beyond shame, Elizabeth Cunningham is best known for her masterful novels that open a world with affinities to the work of Robertson Davies and Marion Zimmer Bradley. SMALL BIRD -- her first collection of poems -- belongs to a tradition of devotional poetry that extends from the great Sufi lyrics of Rumi to Rilke's Sonnets to Orpheus.

Very nice collection of poetry. Divided into eight sections with section names including "Will to Sing" and "In Your Temple". Each section contains six or more poems.

My favorite poem was "Good Friday", which is of Isis and Osiris's comments regarding this particular religious day (Good Friday).
