Learn how the essences of wildflowers can help your mental and spiritual health Drawn from the essence of wildflower blooms by the power of the sun, the Bach Flower remedies produce results which have confounded conventional medicine. Dr. Bach's revolutionary approach to healing through the personality of the patient aroused a storm of controversy. Yet seven decades have demonstrated its efficacy in thousands of cases. This volume includes three books in one: Heal Thyself and The Twelve Healers by Edward Bach, M.D.; and the Bach Remedies Repertory by F. J. Wheeler, M.D. In this comprehensive book you'll discover Dr. Bach's 38 remedies and their application to every situation. It also reveals Dr. Bach's findings on what disease actually is and the natural way to conquer it--by allowing the miraculous human organism to find its own path to true health. Here are just a few remedies to help you through tough times:
This is a combined edition of several publications: Publisher's introduction (fascinating!) The Bach Flower Remedies - A talk with John Diamond Heal Thyself* explores Bach's philosophy of healing. The Twelve Healers* presents Bach's first remedies, and, in this case, includes all 38 descriptions. The Bach Remedies Repertory is Wheeler's reference chart of symptoms and remedies. It is recommended to find the reference, and then read the full description of the remedies to choose the most appropriate.
The 2 intros were what really grabbed me. Over the last 15+ years, I have used the Rescue Remedy combination. In the last few years, I have begun using other remedies & suggesting them to family & friends. I was enthused enough to look up certification programs...and connect with the Foundation in England that preserves Dr. Bach's original work. Those 2 booklets are available free to download on their website.*
I didn't not enjoy reading Dr. Bach's philosophy, but I did find the historical perspective interesting.
I did find the original descriptions of the remedies, from the perspective of describing the personality traits, rather than the 'fault' to be corrected as being rather helpful in furthering my use.
The final 'repertory' was okay, but didn't justify this compilation as a separate book. It was done by a coworker of Dr. Bach's after he died. (again, interesting historically)
My 4* rating is arbitrary, as there were too many components.
After about a year of taking “flower essences” that I had learned about via an online yoga nidra course, I wanted to study why they worked and understand each remedy on a deeper level. So when I found this book at a local thrift store for 10 cents, I knew it was fate. I feel more educated on the topic now and more confident than ever that this system can heal any psychological distress. It is fascinating to read all the different case studies. However, because the studies were from many decades ago, a lot of the medical terminology has changed and therefore I did not know what a lot of the issues and complaints were without looking them up.
This book does not explain how homeopathy works. As the title says it lists different herb remedy for various moods. "Disease is in essence the result of conflict between Soul and Mind.."
This is a wonderfully succinct book. The information given inspires and encourages one to make better with their Soul, Personality, Emotions, and Physical self. Very helpful.
