In the wake of its defeat in World War II, Japan found itself on the brink of an entirely new world. Japanese youth were particularly eager to enjoy this new freedom and test its limits. Out of a wave of student protests and pro-Communist rallies emerged the Japanese Red Army, one of the 197s most feared and deadly terrorist groups. Initially committed only to the overthrow of the Japanese government, the JRA soon expanded its mission to embrace global Communist revolution.
