Provides an overview of the past and present lives of the Apache Native Americans, covering their daily life, customs, and relations with the government. Includes information on Geronimo.
Though it provides cultural insight, it only touches lightly on the issues that the Apache had with the American government, only saying that their many treaties caused problems for both sides. I would have appreciated it taking a heads-on approach, just saying how the American government manipulated them, stole their land, and suppressed their culture. Even if the book's for children, they can understand cruelty.
But, if this is used with other learning material, it can be a good resource. The language is a bit repetitive and simplistic, though.
