Lt. Jace Quinn was assumed dead in the mission that triggered a rapid descent into war. He left his wife a widow... and his unborn child fatherless. Now Jace is home, but in body only. His mind is trapped in the past. Doctor Lily Quinn must find a way to remind her husband of the life he left behind. The enemy is at the gate, and the time has come to prepare for battle. Revelations, mind-boggling truths, and surprise allies clash together to set Earth on a path to salvation... or destruction .
So each book is equally as brilliant as the last one!! I have not found this series slow at any point at all. I have my favorite characters, of course, but I’m loving them all!!
The Quinns are such a ROMANTIC couple, everything Jace says makes me swoon. But my favorite character has become Michael, sweet Michael. The horror he’s been through since he was a toddler is heartbreaking, and you would think he would have walls upon walls up all the time. And in some ways he does, but he is the most compassionate man. He’s gentle and caring about others and he ALWAYS makes time to listen and make them feel special. Even his father Nick, who I adore, isn’t as kind and gentle as he is. I feel like one day he will just explode from all the frustration and anger he holds in, because his “so called” mother is so heartless and has cruelly tortured and broken so many. Instead he reaches out like he’s trying to fix what she broke.
This book had so many shocking, fall out of my seat surprises!!! When I finished it late last night, I picked up book four to dive into it, but the Zon sent me a defective one. They’re sending another though. It says I should get it tomorrow. But I’m dying to dive back into this series and see what happens!! If you haven’t picked up this series yet, just read book one and I guarantee you’ll be hooked!!! Don’t miss out on what has become another one of my favorite series!!
This is the 3rd book in the series. The development of this series is wonderful. I am not disappointed at all! Love the connections that all the main characters have. I am having emotional and heart wrenching moments. I love how the storyline just keeps getting better and better. I am looking forward to the last book (#4) titled End Game. But I do not think that I am ready to end reading these stories. Love them.
