With perfect precision, the author guides the reader along a path of awakening which leads to liberation from the pain and limitations of the past into the joyful and unlimited world of Now. This book reveals, in the simplest way, how to still the mind and become fully present and awake in the truth of life. Perhaps the most important aspect of this book is the author's unique insight into the nature of the mind and ego. He describes in detail how the ego's resistance to Presence is the primary obstacle to awakening and how we can overcome that resistance in a simple and effective way. Each page of this book reveals a part of the mystery. There are hidden keys to awakening on every page. It is like a road map home.
Leonard Jacobson is a mystic, author and teacher, deeply committed to helping others break through to the joyous experience of living in the NOW.
For the past four decades, he has shared a simple and direct way of awakening, infused with love, compassion, and truth.
Leonard teaches how to become fundamentally present and awaken into the truth of who you are, the truth of life, the truth of love and the truth of Oneness. He teaches how to arise in mastery of your mind and ego, so that you are no longer continuously and involuntarily pulled out of Presence.
Leonard’s teaching is about coming back to yourself in a full and complete way, so that you no longer lose yourself in others, or in your story. It is for all those genuinely seeking to awaken, who want to overcome the pain and limitations of the past, and open into a more loving and abundant world.
Leonard is the author of five books. He lives Wayzata, Minnesota and offers regular teaching sessions, workshops, and longer residential retreats in the United States, Europe, Australia and Asia.
Have you ever noticed it's always now? This book with great clarity and simplicity teaches step-by-step how to rest in the abiding peace available in the present moment. There is no stress, tension or anxiety in the present moment, just watch a baby for a while. Even if unhappy, emotions move right through an infant, like clouds. Leonard teaches us to be here now, a place we never left. Leonard is one of the great teachers of our time.
Despite the break I had to take in order to keep up reading the book, I felt the urge to re-read it but also the impact of what I had read so far in my life. It is the perfect timing for me to get inspired and transform my life into better one. I embarked on the journey of awakening and self love through Leonard Jacobson's insights, experiences, and guidelines on how to liberate, set free, live, and enjoy life despite its ups and down. With a easy language and spiritual vocabularies, I had to embrace new responsibilities on my relation with my mind and ego, to balance between the world of mind and the present moment, to release from the entanglements of others and the repressed emotions. By reading this breathtaking piece, I am who I AM. I embrace oneness and uniqueness as God is present in me and all the beautiful creatures in the world. Highly recommended as it is only the beginning of the journey.
Leonard's work has helped me greatly along the path, and if you are one that feels compelled to discover your own enlightenment, you may progress substantially from reading and applying the teachings from this book.
This book is a good overview of Leonard's teaching, and may serve as a good aid for someone coming in additional contact with him and his teaching. As a singular source of understanding this teacher's intent- it won't suffice IMO, and i would check out his stuff online as well, to get a more well-rounded understanding.
I'm don't usually read self help/spirituality books, but this was lent to me by a friend who had enjoyed it. Personally it is a little over the top for me, although the author does make a few noteworthy points that I could relate to. The theme of this book is being present in our lives. Jacobson states that anxiety comes from either past or future expectations. In the present moment, we should be able to deal with each situation as it arises. At times we are feeling grief, but that is really just memories of past hurt. Usually, that hurt is not currently affecting us. He also reminds us to respond to our feelings as they arise. We should feel our feelings and not repress them. The repressed feelings bottle up inside of us and eventually can cause physical pain. Finally, don't judge others.
The book is a quick read and everything is split into small pieces, so it is easy to pick up and read short segments as your time allows. However, some of the sections are just way too short. There are times he gives one or two sentences on a topic and moves on with no real explanation. I did take a few things away from it, mainly reminders of things I already know. Although, it's not something I would recommend to others as a must read.
A great instruction book on contemporary non-Dual philosophy and the art of being Present. Beautiful poetry combined with non-denominational psychological and spiritual truths. Highly recommended for meditators, Truth seekers, philosophers, and students of thought, mind, and consciousness.
