It has been estimated that one of six American couples will face difficulty getting pregnant, yet their cries go unheard. The unfulfilled desire for a child can be all-consuming. New babies and pregnant women are constant reminders of what you cannot have, but have longed for all your life.
The hurt is constant. The struggle is hard. The answers are unclear.
What is clear is that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us and understands our pain. Throughout Scripture we see people just like you and me who have, on bended knee, begged God for a child. There is so much we can glean from these precious, sacred words to heal the hurt and give encouragement that the world simply cannot give.
Baby Hunger is an invaluable tool for those struggling with infertility and for loved ones touched by their pain.
This is an awesome book! It was a huge encouragement to me. It is a more in-depth look at each barren woman in the Bible, and how infertility affected their life. It's something I never really thought about before, but the Bible has a lot to say about infertility & it's good! The author makes it easy to relate to those women, too. She also has a chapter on her own infertility journey, and chapters on adoption & miscarriage. A must-read for anyone dealing with infertility - or if you know someone who is, it can help you to know how to encourage them.
Any one who has ever gone through infertility or knows of someone who has, definitely needs to read this book! I cried the entire way through because it was nice to know that someone else felt the same way I did. This book also shows scripture that supports infertility and how all of the great women in the Bible, struggled with infertility, i.e. Sarah, Rachel, Hannah. I read this book in a matter of hours.
