Rediscover the space you need in between your work, your schedule, and your limits by eliminating unneeded frustrations and reflecting on how you spend your time. From Richard Swenson, author of the bestselling book Margin, this devotional's 180 daily readings offer encouragement, healing, and rest as you deal with time management, stress, and busyness.
A great little devotional that has made a difference in my everyday life. Full of little surprises and helps to get me that margin I so desperately need. I highly recommend it!
Great book that is helpfully broken up into 1-2 minute readings on a subject of activity overload, and ways to address it in your life. One of a few books I universally recommend to friends and coaching clients alike. Completely worth your investment, especially if you’re struggling with the affliction of busyness or if you’re grappling with the limits of humanity.
This book is quick hits of timeless spiritual wisdom with a backdrop of late 90s nostalgia, including many references to fax machines and pagers. It's a testament to the fact that everything changes except humanity itself. We're still struggling with all the same things as a society as we were in the pre-internet era, when this book was published.
It's a slow read, but I read a reflection or two each day. It was the perfect selection to keep me focused on my word of the year: margin.
This is one of my favorite life books. Short, inspirational reflections touch on every area of life with wisdom, common sense and suggestions on how to apply it in everyday living. Quotes at the end of each writing add humor and common sense take aways. Margin is such a critical but often overlooked necessity of life. This makes a great gift for graduates and young adults starting out in the next chapter of their lives. It’s so important for them to know and apply the truths in this book as they enter the workforce, continue their education, get married, or whatever they are choosing to do. The universal truths and applications of this book make it a great gift for older people also. It’s never too late to mind the margins in your life!
Although some of the examples are now a bit dated, the concepts are still sound. This book provides short, two-page readings on topics distilled from the author’s book Margin. I read that book several decades ago, and it set me on the path to simplifying my life in every area.
I read this nightly with my daughter. It served as a great devotional, offering a helpful message each day and promoting reflection about the way I live my life. It’s helped me to strive to change my ways of doing things and to create more margin in every aspect of my life.
