Nibbles: My Amazing Poo Plant: Can Emma grow the perfect pet?

Rate this book
When a bird drops a poo into an empty plant pot, Emma's mom says that if she waters it, a poo plant might grow! Has Emma found the perfect pet at last? Will Emma's poo plant grow to be a winner in her school's Pet Show? Our popular series offers a reading buffet for every appetite and skill level. When you dish up just the books kids are ready for, they'll bite, and grow into voracious readers. The three drool-worthy selections on our menu start with Nibbles , appetizer-sized portions for new readers. Bites give a larger helping of more advanced reading to the kids who are ready for more. Finally, they graduate to full-sized middle grade novels we call Chomps . Dessert, anyone? Each book has a bite taken out of it, indicating its reading level to parents while tipping off kids that they're in for a real treat. Written by a host of top-notch, award-winning children's authors!

It is very interesting when a bird flys past a pot of soil and poos into the pot and the next day a plant starts growing from it. Maybe it all was a coincidence because this never could be true ir was it something that the bird ate. I give this book a rating of 4 out of 5.

Who could resist that title? A subtle lesson in nature and in the growing of plants with that great title and an entertaining story. Another winner from the Aussie Nibbles stable of story telling.

I read this aloud to a Year 2-3 class (6-8 year olds) and it went well even though it is an early chapter look in small format and I usually read them picture books. This fitted in perfectly with the Teacher's unit on Growing Things because it is much more about plants than pets.
