KC is in over her head when her yen for Steven Garth, wealthy and well-connected, causes her to go into debt purchasing clothes and jewelry to hide her humble background
Ok, look, objectively I know these are terrible books. This one is full of horrific fat shaming, obnoxious asshole dudes and terrible writing. And it doesn’t even have a proper ending. And yet I enjoyed every awful minute of it.
In 1990 HaeperCollins released the second book in the Freshman Dorm Book Series. This second book is titled “FreshmanLies” and it is authored by Linda Cooney. The book features the experiences of three university female first year students, their boyfriends, and the challenges they face taking classes, paying educational bills, and living together in a dormitory. The main characters are Kahia Cayanne Angeletti nicknamed KC, her roommate Winifred Gottlieb nicknamed Winnie, Lauren Turnbell-Smythe, and Faith Crawley. They all share dorm rooms at Springfield University. The dormmates become good friends, have amazing relationships with four male freshmen students, and develop relationships with university administrators. The book describes their school activities in university theatre productions, writing University Weekly Journal articles related to school activities , and school soccer funding support from fan sport shirt sales and memorabilia . The interpersonal relationships of the female dorm students with their new boy friends, their course learning activities, and dormitory interpersonal bonding set the stage for books #3, 4, and 5 in the Linda Cooney Freshman Dorm series.
