Book four in the Club Rio Brava series. Fifteen years of marriage couldn’t still Mark’s hunger for his wife’s gorgeous body. But overwork as a surgeon and the resultant tiredness were sure doing a number on his libido. Forced to face the direction his life is taking, and realizing he might lose Lynn, Mark decides to take control back—especially in the bedroom. Opportunity knocks when a chance conversation about a local BDSM club reminds Mark of all the times he and Lynn had gotten off on kinky sex early in their marriage. A visit to Club Rio Brava re-awakens the Dom in Mark, giving him the perfect way to get back to the uninhibited lifestyle he and his deliciously submissive wife enjoyed before work and kids got in the way.
First published in 1996, Jacobs has sold close to fifty books and novellas. SANDSTORMS was a 2007 nominee for the prestigious ROMANTIC TIMES Reviewers' Choice award for best erotic romance. Her books have earned awards including the Passionate Plume (best novella, 2006, second place contemporary, 2008), the Desert Rose (best hot and spicy romance, 2004) and More Than Magic (best erotic romance, 2004). She has been a double finalist in separate categories of the EPPIES and From the Heart RWA Chapter’s contest. Three of her books have been translated and sold in several European countries.
A CPA and former hospital financial manager, Jacobs now writes full-time, with the help of Mr. Blue, the family cat who sometimes likes to perch on the back of her desk chair and lend his sage advice. He sometimes even contributes a few random letters when he decides he wants to try out the keyboard. (Most of the time Blue just curls up, hides his eyes with his paws...and sleeps!)
Ann Jacobs did a good job in this story about a 15 year mortgage getting stale. Most romance books seem to focus on the journey to the initial HEA. Mark and Lynn's story explores the challange of keeping a long term marriage fresh. As always I enjoyed the authors writing style. cO did find the BDSM was a little more hard core than I enjoy.
I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.
Amazing a marriage growing stale it's a great story to keep a marriage happy and steamy this story is well told I loved it I have read all the books in this series and can say they are five star reads I'm looking forward to seeing what this author brings out next.I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
As always a very well written steamy hot short story. Amazing and different theme. I like that the author has used the issue of making a longterm marriage as interesting as in the early years. Absolutely worth the read.
Obviously the author rushed through this book, because it wasn't proofread, there were character names that were used wrongly, and she got Mark's kids genders and names mixed up from the last 3 books. I don't remember what book it was in, but when introducing her twins to someone, they were a boy and a girl. But in this book they are 2 year old boys. Sorry, but things like continuity throughout a series matters to me. This whole series felt a bit rushed. I read it because I was curious, but...
After 15 years of marriage, Lynn wants her husband to desire her again, not ignore her and become a workaholic. So she tries to bring back some spice to their marriage. So when Mark goes to check out Eli and Maggie's club, Lynn gives him permission to be with others. WTF?
Sorry, but that was just not reality. Going from a loving marriage, trying to bring back the spark to playing with others?
This book was amazing! It shows that if you truly love each other then there will always be a way to work things out! Super sweet, with so much passion, love and heat! I really hate to see this series end!
