Two neatniks, Jared Hamilton and Sammi Smith, dislike each other on first sight. But as they help Jared's sister deal with her own personal demons, they begin to fall in love.
Judy Baer was born and grew up on a farm on the prairies of North Dakota, USA. An only child, she spent most of her days with imaginary people-either those she read about or those she made up in her head. Her most ambitious conjuring did not succeed, however. She kept a clean stall with hay and oats for the horse she imagined would come but unfortunately, it never did. As an adult, however, she managed to make that dream come true and raised foundation quarter horses and buffalo for some years. A voracious reader, Judy learned to read with comic books, anything from Little Lulu and Superman to the Rawhide Kid. She sold her first story for $10.00 to a farm magazine. She still has the $10.00.
She graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota with a major in English and education and a minor in religion. At the time, she was simply studying what interested her, but now realizes that she was educating herself for her future career as an inspirational christian romance writer.
Judy wanted to write for Harlequin even in high school but it wasn't until her youngest child learned to say "No" that she realized that she'd better consider a second career to fall back on when mothering was done. Her first book was written with her little girl on her lap. Judy would type a few words, say "Now, Jennifer," at which time her daughter would hit the space bar before Judy continued typing. It wasn't the fastest way to work, but it offered a lot of mother-daughter time together. An over-achiever, she's written 71 books for various publishers. The mother of two and step-mother of three, she now has lots of family to enjoy.
In 2001, she went back to school and became a certified professional life coach. Currently she is working on her Master's in Human Development in the areas of writing, coaching and spirituality and writing inspirational Chick Lit which, she says, is the most fun she's ever had writing.
“Men come and go, but clutter is forever… I’ve been told the reason I’m still single at twenty-nine is because there’ll never be a man tidy enough for me. I’m a professional organizer, so everything in my world is in perfect order. Well…everything except my love life. But I think I’ve met my match in Jared Hamilton, who recently hired me to cure his sister’s “clutter issues.” He’s an even bigger neatnik than I am, but he also needs to control everyone around him. I’m starting to realize that sometimes love can be a messy business!”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Pre Teens- One Star New Teens- Two Stars Early High School Teens- Three Stars Older High School Teens- Four Stars My personal Rating- Four Stars Since I’ve enjoyed “Million Dollar Dilemma” and “Norah’s Ark” so much by this author, I’ve been wanting to read her other books for years now. Finally getting to it and starting with “Be My Neat-Heart”. While I wasn’t an overall big fan of the main guy, Sammi was so fun! I really enjoyed all the faith parts and as an organizer, the parts of Sammi’s job. There was also a fun hidden Easter egg of Norah’s Ark being mentioned twice!
This book is absolutely hilarious !!!! I would have to say that this is one of my absolute favorites of this author. Judy Baer always tries to have a positive influence through her books, and teach a positive principle. This one shows the difference between disorganization and hoarding, as well as organization and obsession. While it is good to be organized and clean, you shouldn't go overboard.
Sammi Smith is a professional personal organizer and Jared Hamilton needs his sister Molly to get organized or he will be forced to fire her from their company. Sammi and Jared are immediately at odds and Sammi ultimately quits due to the way Jared treats his sister. However, Molly plots to force Sammi and Jared to get to know each other better.
There are delightful bits thanks to tales of strange organizational experiences and Sammi’s unique couple of pets who are always good for a few laughs. I enjoyed this romance and also the frequent Biblical references. There was an awkward transition following the spa scenes that took a few chapters to get back on track, but the overall story is very pleasant.
It had some very cheesy moments. The title being one. Yet it had it's fun, enduring , and entertaining moments as well. Interesting and some relatable characters. I enjoyed Sammi Smith being a neat freak and being some one I could identify with on many levels. I also have a friend like Wendy who is laid back, wears unique clothing , and has been my friend since college. I also have a friend kinda like Molly where I feel like I have to help her organize her life and bail her out of situations. Love them just like Sammi does her friends so that was nice to read about. Over all a nice, quick, enjoyable read.
A professional organizer was hired by Jared to help his sister, Molly, out of the mess she was in. Molly drew together her brother and the organizer and she actually found sometone too. I think their belief in God helped with this also. It really was a quick and easy and entertaining read.
It was really cheesy and a bit ridiculous at times, but it was also fun and funny, and I found the characters (for the most part) completely delightful.
this book was sweet and, a special surprise --- conventionally spiritual! which was funny in that it contrasted starkly with the book i JUST finished prior to reading this which was spiritually LIBERAL. so, . . . . i loved the unexpected sweet spirituality of this book. i have to say, though, that it was too saccharine and trite, really.
A review from my old blog... (I wish I had written more so I could remember what this book was about)
I enjoyed this book. There were a few detractors, a few cliche moments but in the end I couldn't put the book down. I wanted to see how Baer brought the characters to the end that I skipped to read ahead of time.
The heroine is a clutter-buster, who helps people to prioritize, organize, sanitize, categorize, systematize, standardize, purify, classify and stupefy...
Mengingatkanku untuk kembali beres-beres rumah... ;)
I really liked this book at first but then it just got too weird, too far fetched, and eventually too boring. To be fair, chick-lit is generally not my thing but I do occasionally find one I like which is why I bought this book.
I love how Judy Baer can create such interesting characters. The heroine in this book is a professional organizer. Predictable, yes. But charming nonetheless.
Sweet, predictable. Mostly what I expected from a book I picked based on it's somewhat cheesy title. Christian romance, my fluff hobby. I guess it's where the time I save not watching TV goes ;)
