The first meditators in history were the shamans whose practices for contemplation and connecting with the divine are echoed in virtually every spiritual tradition today. On Shamanic Meditations, Sandra Ingerman invites you to return to the source of human spirituality--and experience for yourself the enduring power of these ancient practices for healing, guidance, and awakening.
With seven guided meditations--called "journeys" in the shamanic tradition--from a renowned author and teacher, this two-hour program features an overview of shamanic principles, guided practices for finding your "spirit teachers" and "power animals," the shamanic initiation into oneness, and more.
I knew about the author through The Shift Network. Just recently started to read or listen to her books. They are all book shamanic journeying ideas and concepts. Though all different. this book was for a beginner. She does provide the shamanic drumming music on the audio version but she does talk a little bit during the meditation to give structure. This might be good for a beginner. She doesn’t come out and tell you watch to see, like a stream on your left or a meadow to your right but ask questions for you to think about, like the floor is it soft or hard …. Etc When you get to your guide she stops talking and let’s you connect with your guide. When it’s time to leave she starts talking again to guide you out. If you are not a beginner you might find the narration distracting but I didn’t.
I don't know. This just wasn't for me? I listened to the audiobook and found the quality not very good and the reader's voice not particularly conductive to the activities.
