This is one of the best book I ever read on matriarchy and ecofeminism, probably the best part is the profound analysis of Long in how Wisdom as a expression of the female principle has been both occult and destroyed by Christian theological scholars, is a highly scholarly book, with a rigerous use of primary sources and well-supported interpretations and conections between the manifestations of the Goddess in the hebrew tradition (mostly as Ashtera/Astarté "Queen of Heaven") and the goddesses of Egypt, Greece, and the Near East.
