This is the book that introduced me to the Arabian Nights, so there is already a bias. I wanted to read this again after a full translation to see what I’d been missing. This is a massively abridged and somewhat sterilized version of the Arabian Nights. But it also adds expressive and immersive illustrations that spur the imagination. Besides half of Sinbad’s voyages, the stuff that was left out was outdated, confusing, boring, unrelatable.
folktale/fairy tale, 303 pg; kids' version of the Arabian Nights includes stories about Sinbad and Aladdin, among others. British publication so a bit hard to find.
