Hmmm, I just finished this book yesterday and for a moment I could not remember what it was about. It was a sweet love story with a "good guy" hero. Would have been more stars without the premarital sex but no author seems to go there anymore. Oh well I am just old fashioned.

A fun and thoughtfully developed contemporary romance featuring an etiquette expert and a detective whose newly-a-socialite girlfriend has signed him up for a manners makeover. I wouldn't trust the specifics of this premise--the hero is still in a relationship with another woman, and they're both at least attempting to save the relationship--to just any author, but Phyllis Bourne has quickly become one of my favorite romance novelists. She took a lot of care to not have cheating occur (especially given that the heroine is recently divorced from the husband who cheated on her--with her best friend!) on the hero's part, and to not make the original girlfriend a one-dimensional demon. Bourne also utilized very well POVs from said girlfriend and from the man whom she starts dating during the course of the story.

But mostly it's a story about Ali and Hunter, two people who connect on the basis of character, and it was fun to see them realize their feelings for each other, and to realize that the respect and trust and joy they were developing could be theirs forever. Just what I want out of a romance. (Also: good food descriptions as always, thank you for that, Phyllis Bourne).

Operation Heal My Heart

Hunter & Ail's story was cute and a little predictable. Erica let money drive her a little batty and her man into the arms of someone else.. The story had charm and a little mystery. Delighted friends and family. I missed the laugh out loud humor that I love from Ms. Bourne but it was still a good book.

Very Cute Story

Ali and Hunter were the perfect match...once you got past his current girlfriend and Ali's previous heartbreak. I loved watching the two fall in love and realize that Ali had indeed found her Prince Charming. Pick this book up, you won't be disappointed.

Perfect Lesson

Ali is a woman that deserves some happiness after what she’s been through. I applaud Hunter for his effort but he deserved happiness too. And Erica learned the lesson of reaping what she sewed and not burning bridges.

Perfect Blend

This story was a great one to read and I enjoyed the different point of views of each character. I’m glad Hunter finally got the love he deserved.

Operation Prince Charming by Phyllis Bourne
*I received a gift copy to review*

Oh my goodness! What an adorably sweet story! And I loved the hint of mystery sprinkled in. Hunter Coleman, the hero is a detective who is unhappy in his relationship with Erica Boyd, a wealthy girlfriend in which the money goes to her head and she's trying her damnedest to get recognized by some of Nashville's highly-esteemed social groups. Erica's a little embarrassed with Hunter and sends him off to charm school to brush up on his etiquette. Hunter reluctantly agrees.

While at the school, however, he meets his teacher, Ali Spencer, and it's love at first sight. The two of them see more and more of each other, and he continues falling out of love with Erica. Erica moves on, as well, meeting a smooth-talking guy named Taj St. John, who has some interesting dark secrets of his own.

The saying 'money can't buy happiness' certainly rings true in this story from what we see in Erica and Hunter's relationship.

The light mystery wasn't that hard to figure out 'whodunit', but it still made the story that much more fun to read and enjoy. And of course, the beautiful HEA.

The love scenes were especially hot. The author has a knack for writing steamy love scenes!

If you're looking for a sweet, fun romance with a hint of mystery, definitely check this book out! You won't be disappointed!

Hunter is sent to charm school by his social climbing girlfriend Erica, where he meets Ali Spencer. She is back in Atlanta to help out her elderly aunt run the school while she figures out what to do with her life. And then, romance.

The Good
-Kindle Unlimited
-Ali and Hunter have good chemistry and their attraction is believable
-More character driven than plot
-Always nice to see a story with men and women of color that aren’t just supporting characters.

The Meh
-The resolution to the burglary secondary storyline is way too easy and unimpressive.
-The jump for Hunter from Erica to Ali is fairly quick and predictable - though I was grateful for no cheating on his part.
-It was lacking some excitement. Too many things felt resolved too easily to be really satisfying.

The Bottom Line (2.5 stars)
A pleasant, if not exciting, read.

Operation Prince Charming is DEFINITELY a sweet & CHARMING read...Hunter is quite the Knight-in-Shining Armour...and Ali is little Miss Manners but still very down to earth...I so enjoy the camaraderie between Ali, Hunter, Sandy, Pete and the boys...dinner at the Jameson home was a HOOT...LOL...and when Hunter fails his 4-star restaurant test because he was STARVING...now that was FUNNY and cute...a REFRESHING and enjoyable romance with an INTRIGUING mystery on the side...looking forward to the next book from Phyllis Bourne.

Cute Story

This was a cute story. Boy and girl meet, boy in relationship with someone else, girl not willing to break up couple. After all that, Hunter and Allison finds their way to each other.

I loved this book so much I read most of it on one night!! Kept telling myself one more chapter and then I had finished it. It's a good chic-lit read for anyone into a bit of romance and a tiny bit of mystery at the same time

A pretty typical trashy romance. Good for a brain-off read. The story was predictable but the premise was quite cute and the writing was decent.

So we have to stoop to gratuitous sexual activity. There is not enough relationship development. No thanks you! Needs so much more!
