Hope Carruthers was determined to clear her father's name, even if it meant confronting the intimidatingly sophisticate Sean Boudreaux. She was prepared to deal with his objections but hadn't counted on the fires this devastatingly sexy man lit within her.
Hope charged into Sean's life with a tale too crazy to be true, but something about her naive determination tugged at his heart. He let her go through his belongings for the proof she was convinced she'd find. But in the close quarters the search required, Hope's innocent sensuality made it hard to stay uninvolved.
Past deceptions had placed Sean and Hope on opposite sides. Would the truth bring them together . . . or force them farther apart?
3.5 stars I enjoyed this one. Our heroine Hope comes across as a little naive and sheltered at times. She grew up in Mexico where her American father was exiled and grew up with a lot of religion. After her father's death she comes to America and tracks down the hero, telling him of their father's friendship and how his father helped her father. The hero Sean who was estranged from his dead father had a hard time believing her tale off, how his dad's award winning work was all the heroine's father work but he still allows her to search for proof. All the while there is an undercurrent of attraction between them which terrifies the hero because he doesn't want to get involved after a failed marriage. Honestly, I liked this one and the author's writing.
