This is a story of a great loss that starts the boy on a path of a revenge after his immediate family is executed.
Guided by his uncle and later by a mysterious assassin Gordon MacMaster boy [and later man] Terry Kingston slowly infiltrates the Australian underground scene and finds his way to the crime-lords that ordered his parents killed. During that time Terry realizes that organized crime is organism on its own and elimination of any part - be it lower ranking thugs, organizers or even heads of organization - just ends up with others taking the emptied seats so to speak and [from the practical point of view] nothing changes.
Author tells a revenge story by a determined man who paces his actions, bides his time and waits for over a decade before striking the decisive blow. Story is very similar to the Frederick Forsyth's The Cobra in regard to the main protaginst's goals and the way how crime syndicate dismantling is planned and executed - as a long run operation as opposed to hit-and-run.
Although spanning years story is very fast-paced with lots of action and detective-like investigations.
Highly recommended to all thriller fans. Cannot wait to read other books in the series.

Fabulous and exotic with incredible depth of geographic detail. It takes you to Sydney and entrances you.
