I was drawn to this book because the author is a local of the small town that I happen to be inhabiting at the moment and because of the introduction in the book. He states that almost three million American served in Vietnam and that each has a unique and different story to tell. I was amazed how similar his feelings were to my husbands. I have read alot of books about Vietnam but this one could have been written by the man I live with.

Really enjoyed this book. A personal experience of a real soldier fighting in the Viet Nam War. Having met the author put it more in perspective. He included interesting views of the conflict and how he, a soldier, felt about it and dealt with them.
